Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, let's get it going.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
It is the twenty second of February twenty twenty five,
and we're alive for some Saturday night tournament. Who's on
Mattic ninety five nine Between the Carry Blue Devils and
the Gibsonburg Golden Bears. This broadcast of varsity girls postseason
basketball is presented by Matthews Honda Acura. This contest taking
place at Bowlden Green High School in Woods County. The

(00:26):
Gibsonburg Golden Bears have arrived from their village in Sandusky County,
a trip of about twenty two miles. Gibsonburg's record is
nineteen and five, coming off a district semifinal victory here
over Toledo Christian thirty seven to twenty nine. The Kerry
Blue Devils have made it here from their village in
Wine Doot County, a trip of about forty five miles.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Carrie's record is.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Seventeen and six, coming off a district semifinal win over
one Moore fifteen to forty four. Carrie is a member
of the Northern Ten Athletic Conference in the intense second
place team after winning the conference of season ago. Gibsonburg
belongs to the Sandusty Bay Conference and champions of the
SBC River Division. Carry's head coach is Keith o. Flaherty

(01:12):
in his fourth season, assisted by Jim Anderson, Sydney nord Dyke,
and Chrissy Spiegel. The head coach for Gibsonburg is Bout
Everts in his sixth season, assisted by Aaron Stout, Troy Eerie,
and Ryan Everts. The Gibsonburg players are wearing their road
black uniforms.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
With orange block letters.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
The Carrie players dressed in their home white's designed with
the Navy block letters. Harry is the number one seed
designated as the home team. The winner of this game
will advance to the regional round. Our game officials James Porter,
William Strawl and Tracy Lindsey. And it is mister Straw

(01:53):
in the middle and the opening jump is tipped by
Henderson for Gibsonburg as the We'll start things off moving
it left to right from our perspective directly behind the
scorer's desk. So let's get hit going with efforts in
the left side. We get a three off the rim
for gipping and balls loose and the reboundary you'll four.

(02:15):
The Carry blue Devils dribbles out of a double tea
behind the back with it a crossover to the right hand,
right side to Ryan Hart. We're gonna round the perimeter
left sign McKinley. Kessler heads a cross court down low
Brodnington and fouled on the way up Kimberly Brodman ready
to go to the line and shoot a pair in
the first foul of this game. Gibson Burg Elena Molter

(02:40):
the five to seven senior, so Emily Rodman had the
free throw line for Carrie sloots the first one up
off the heel of the rim. There does not go shooting.
Get fifty seven percent from the line this season. One

(03:02):
more free throw here for Brodman. Releases with the right
hand and that one off the lid as well. But
there Phoenix going for the offense the rebound in Broman
races in there, gets into Phoenix and a tie up
inside or maybe another foul. Let's see it is, oh
my gosh, and it's on Malta again. Give Somelter. Well,

(03:25):
this was not what the Golden Bears had in mind
for a senior starter. In Elena Malter getting two fouls
within the first forty seconds of the game. So she
goes out of this contest. There's really no choice. She
is replaced by Leah Hall. So here we go, carry
Blue Devil's no score so far. After a couple of

(03:48):
miss free throws as Riley Yost the inten first teamer
to the left side McKinley Kessler, I gets some strong
defense from efforts right side to Ryan harn around the
screen from McKinley Kessler at the top of the key
and Chippenden in front of her right Sideman crosses over
back up high Yost pull up shot right arc front

(04:09):
rim No tapped out of bounds. Oh, they say, off
of Carrie. Looked like it was off the right hand
of Henderson, and Bella Phoenix was put up her hands like,
well what off me?

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Now that's the call. So it is Gibson berg.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Ball moving into left to right as they inbound it
to Fleming, surrounded and a pat deflect it all and
we may get a bumping foul on that steel attempt
by Bella Phoenix. Yep, she bumped right into Flemming. Yes,
so that's an understandable call. So here we go, still

(04:44):
no score and minute ten seconds into this contest.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
On the right side.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
All ball deflected out of bounds off of Carrie's broadman,
so it does stay with gibsonburg with the score still led,
Zeros so Leah Hole to win bound the ball to
sideline up to Everts and Nellie. She is such a
tremendous player averaging twenty two points per game and left

(05:11):
side to Henderson holds the ball up and here's a
top Jimmindon doesn't go for the straightaway three. We know
that they put up a lot of threes in the
ball heads out of bounds again of Robmin and the
Peers winning bounds into the back court to efforts one

(05:34):
on one. It's McKinley Kessler. She has stepped up so
many times a guard. Some excellent guards up high and
this is one of the best. You'll find. Everts with
the dribbles a shot at the free throw line, it scores.
That's tremendous one on one ability. You don't see many
players around here who are able to do that. It
is two to nothing. Gibson verd right back for the

(05:56):
carry Blue Devils, and that's one of the things that
they just have to make sure that they are not
discouraged when that happens, and get those help defenders over
there right side Kessler whistle and the travels yep, so
looks a little extra step over there. So Gibson Bird
does get that ball back with the two to nothing lead,

(06:19):
it went bound to Efforts and it is McKinley. Kessler
back pedals defensively, tries to stay with her a little
crossover pass left side gibbing of a ball fake right
side Fleming and sends a cross court to the hole
on a drive double team deflected. Yoas gets her hands
in there. We gonna tie up between Fleming and yo

(06:41):
stitting with the possession arrow. It does turn it over
to the carry Blue Temples all right, So Carrie, with
the ball trailing it two to nothing, Ellie Efforts is
the only scorer so far or Gibson Birds. Here we
go for carry into the front court Phoenix right side Kessler,

(07:01):
the left side to Yost which she's out there running
the show. Things get a lot calmer for the Blue
Devils heading left lane lines into now Kessler three that
one deflected, but winds up with the follow and the deuce,
so Emily Boban ties the game for Carrie two points.
So with his back. Oh, travel just called on hold,

(07:27):
okay anything ras from the door again, Austin all right,
So Jividen takes the break. Is they've a Dawson, I
have a freshman onto the floor for Gibsonburg. So sideline
and bound for Kessler and goes up high to yosts

(07:48):
guarded here by Flemming screen set by Rodman, going out
a direction right side. Yost pulls him back up to Rodman,
bounced past his side. Phoenix had felt on the way
up and Arsenal is going to be on Ellie Everts. Wow,
So no way does Gibsonburg want her to get into
any foul trouble. That's the first personal on their first

(08:10):
teamer and the most outstanding player SBC River Division. So
here we go. First free throw for a bellow Phoenix
and that one is through four of the freshman. Good
concentration right there, taking her time gives Carrie first lead
to this game of three to two, and the second
free throw that was good as well. So two free

(08:32):
throws for Melon Phoenix gives it Carrie a four to
two lead. Right back for Gibsonburg is Dawson has a
dribble in the back Corn working one on one against
Ryan Hart into the front quarter across the timeline. That's
past deflected and we gotta steal here right Hard her
turnover for Gibsonburg.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Blue Devil's with it.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Ryan Hard passed left side to Kessler, giving room defensively
by Hinderson and up high two Yosts guarded one on one.
I'm fleming back to the right side to Reinhardt coming
up defensively as efforts to the left side. Broadman over
to Yos one on when it gets flimming again between
the legs with their dribble since the right side to

(09:12):
Kissler and back to Yost and Carrie leading get four
to two into the body of Henderson, shuts up hed
a call for travel. Wow, she made the stop, and
then Yost just taps her own chests, seemingly acknowledging that
the call was a correct. So second turnover for Krrie,
so a layup nullified there for Yost. So the score

(09:34):
remains four to two. Carrie Gibsonburg Bull efverts and a
little hesitation dribble and it goes in for the three,
and that one deflected nicely by Kessler. Gunde from McKinley
and coming everywhere yos it Resolds blocked by Efforts Wow,
and then out of bounds off of Broadman. So Everts.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
She averages one and a half blocks per game.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
She basically leads Gibsonburg in all the major categories, and
that was an impressive play defensively for Efforts. So Leah
Hull returns to the Gibsonburg bench as Emma Jimmyden back
onto the floor and on the impounds. Efforts needs some
help and finds it from Henderson, who heads it right
back to Everts. Jump past. They head to Dawson and

(10:21):
they need a thirty second timeout. That was getting to
be a bit discombobulated, so the head coach vote Everts,
called for the thirty second quest federal credit. You did
timeout with three p thirty seven to go in this
first quarter and Carrie leading it forwards two. That's one
of the things that Carrie does so well is that

(10:41):
team defense, and when they start trapping on the sidelines,
that can make things challenging even for a strong team
like gibson Burg. So sometimes the timeouts just needed to
settle things down a bit, and that appears appears to

(11:04):
be that type of time out, so the Golden Bears
her back out on the floor. They're flemming Gividen, Everts, Dawson,
and Henderson, who's about to win bound the ball, So
gibson Berg has it trailing it forward to two into

(11:25):
the front court Everts and she is so quick, but
so is Kessler on defense, and she's surrounded on the
double teem able to pass out of it though she's
next to the passer on the left side. Giveden into
the front right side. Here off the ball, fake fleming
a right wing shot off the heel, three pound for
Emily Brodman, looking to push her head. Kessler taking all
the way of the lay up foul almost made it

(11:47):
as well.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
The Kintley Kessler to go to the line.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Then the personal was on Ava Dawson five eight freshman
four Gibson Birders tea board. All right, so here we
go McKinley Kessler freshman. First free throw was good for Kessler.

(12:12):
Midway through the season, she worked her way into the
starting lineup. Wow, she has been flying. Second free throw.
That one pops off the lid rebound Hinderson. It is
back to Gibsonburg trailing at five to two, so Everts
across the timeline for the Golden Bears. A counter crossover

(12:33):
runs into the teeth of the defense, back up to
Flemming the left side Jiffden and to Dawson. Follon extended
pulls back the dribble up to Jiffiden at the mid
court logo trailing at five to two heads left, crosses
over to the right works at two Henderson at the
right point. Since the left side Dawson takes it left
chest pass right side Jiffden carry defense holding up here

(12:55):
with two forty two to go in the first and
leading it five to two. Gibsonburg's only score her it
was from Everts. Dawson in some trouble hands it off,
Flimming whistle hope that one's gettinghills, getting really physical out there,
and goodness, Crawley as a rally stoops the sophomore off
the bench, picking up the personal four Carrie. So that

(13:16):
is the first personal odd stoops. All right, So here
we go, oh series of fancy dribbles. Their efforts misses
the shotting in the lane though, Yeah, that she is
hard to stay in front of right back for the carry.
Blue temples outside the Broadman two twelveth to go in

(13:36):
the first Broman pull up baseline.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
No Everts collects the rebounds.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
She I'm just eight of doers, but there we give
us deal here for Emily Brodman takes a run away
down low Yost in her past deflected, winds up with stoops,
gets it back to Yosta Hie to Ryan Hart and
they might need the reset. Rodman back to Reinhart high
left side, meant defensively by Flimming one fifty two to
go in the first carry with a five to two lead,
broad And drips over to the right side, down to

(14:02):
the corner with Kintley Kessler up high to Yost. One
to go in the first pops over to with her
right hand between the legs, goes the other direction to
Stew's between her rings. Chess pass left side right, Hart
around the street from steps stops to the free throw line,
searches for a teammate. Fines Braunman heads towards the baseline
right into the body offensive fowl. Excellent job there for

(14:28):
Flemming stepping in and that personal one. Emily Bodmin, Yeah,
she did go in with the shoulder waiting for her
first gotta tell you, the ball movement really was picking
up well there for Carrie Oh on the amount steal

(14:50):
for stoops. Carrie's got it off the bargner for three
off the lids and the balls loose down low more
contact in his time. It is the Kintley Kessler pulled
for the fowl on that rebound attempts. So first foul
on Kessler and that's only fourteen fouls. Okay, four team

(15:12):
fouls for carry down and the ball just lost on
the sideline by Flemming for the fifth Gibsonburg turnover. So
we'll see, uh what they do here. Emily Henderson back
on for Gibsonburg and Bellow Phoenix returns for a carry

(15:34):
Lou Devil's with the ball leading get five to two,
one ten to go in the first quarter of this
district championship game at Bulling Cree. If you get a
crossover left side left our pull up Yost off the
back iron, high repound yanked out by Hall, Gibsonburg ball
into the front court. Flemming so too the right side
Jimpleman off a ball bake back up to Flemmings into

(15:55):
the top two efforts spin moves, step back log shot
clips the lid and Baull knocked out of bounds off
off of Reinhart. They say she was over there, couldn't
quite tell if she was the one who tested her Henderson,
but the official Williams strolls right there and he said, yes,
it's Gibsonburg ball. Gibsonburg still trailing five to two. A

(16:15):
defensive battle so far, Hi Flimming cut off on the
angle by Phoenix my right side Gibenden and back to efforts.
Everts could get off a shot just about any time
she wants, but so far has only made one of them.
Left side Flimming falls down and out of bounds. Well,

(16:36):
it's six turnovers for Gibsonburg in this first quarter. This
carry defense is stepping up Blue Double's with the ball
leading get five to two, twenty five seconds left in
this first quarter, has Brodman fall on extended right side
to the top of the key to Brodman goes around
the stoop screen left side to Rhinhardt, Giveden on d
to the free throw line. Broadman takes it right at

(16:56):
hole and back up high to righthard Head's left side.
On the switch, it's hol on her to the top
the key, Yos. Five seconds here to go in this
first quarter, someone's got to shoot it. Yost with the
decision and blog in a foul called on Hole, and
coach Boe Everts is going off there yelling at the

(17:20):
official Tracy Lindsey. He completely disagrees with that call, but
nonetheless it is a foul on Leo Hole. So the
free throw Yost and that ribbles off the lid. No
good dear for Riley Yost. One more free throw for Yo.

(17:44):
So only four tens of a second left here in
this first quarter. Second free throw that one's good for
on the Yost sixty two carry inbound Everts, Settle do
it for the first quarter, not much scoring.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
But plenty of action.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
At the end of one on our Wilson tires, you
are bored. It is Carrie six, Gibson Burg two. We'll
be back for the start of the second quarter of
this district championship game. Glad you're with us for Matthews
Honaker Girls High School Basketball game of the Week.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
I'm imagining ninety five to nine.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
And I Heart Radio as we bring you back thirty
seconds into the second quarter. We did get a score.
Ellie efforts got won four gibson Burg. She has all
four points for the Golden Bears, who trailed six to
four to Carrie.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Here comes and thrive.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Here Phoenix fan Bella gets the call in her favor.
That's a part of it. Stay aggressive and the personal
is on Ava Dawson. So that's a second personal on
Dawson Old they called it on Emily Henderson. I make
your pardon, So the five ten junior Henderson picks up
that personal. So that is her first. Here we go

(18:47):
free throw it.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
It's good for Bella.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
She's a perfect three for three from the free throw line.
Makes it a seven to four lead for Carrie. More
free throw bellow Phoenix for Carrie. And that's off the
lid off of the rebound stoops. And then she traveled. Yeah,
she shook a step and didn't release the balls. Perhaps

(19:12):
thought the teammate would be open and saw that was
not the case. And probably in that situation, yeah, you
could see where that would happen. But here we go
Gibsonburg with the ball left to right, Raily get seven
two four to the carry Blue Devils in this district
final win the three efforts for the time, no high

(19:32):
off the lid. Follow doesn't go by the fowl hole.
It was sky in get the rebound. She was hit
Leo hole to go to the free throw line. Does
shoot two. The personal was on the rallyos for Carrie
first personal on Yost. So Leah Hole here at the

(19:53):
line five to ten Junior, well first wood front iron
does not go for Leah. One more free throw.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
That one's good. One of two on that trip for Leah.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Hall pulls Gibsonburg to within two carry with the ball
leading at seven to five just a minute into this
second quarter, and uh, you know the kick is called
on Gibsonburg. So that's what stops play, all right. So
Kessler and him bound on the sideline for carry. Gotta

(20:34):
get it in and does just on time. Timmiley Brotman
right side to Yost and she was out for that
game at home versus Cardinal Stritch. Yeah, that leadership and
calm presence is missed. But the Blue Devils, nonetheless, we're
able to get through it, and we get a whistle
and a traveler hall On broughtman. Wow.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
So now the Blue Devils up to five turnovers.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
As a Rachel Ryan Harder returns to the lineup for
Carrie replacing Rally stoops so Leah hole on the imbound
sideline for Gibsonburg. You're looking for efforts in bounds. It
tapped briefly by Kessler by efforts with an upright drivel

(21:20):
into the front court left to right. It's towards the
left side around the whole screen. Who rolls into the
left side, flimming off the ball. Fake Hi. Here we
go with three efforts off the ten, chasing down the
rebound hall, but cannot quite get to it at the
right corner, out of bounds. Back to Carrie's even bound

(21:42):
in the back court to yeos. She's facing the double
t saw split through it. Here we go bout pass
into Facebook Park from behind by efforts well her second block.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
She is good at that.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Gibsonburg with the ball and then inflected out the bounds
by Rod Bendon stays with Gibsonburg traily gets seven to
five to carry her number ten. Number twenty five Emily
Anderson returning for Gibsonburg. Henderson on the inbound into the

(22:17):
front court to Dawson for Gibsonburg down by two. A
couple of minutes in two this second corner of the
district championship game. They are fighting hard out there, for sure.
On the drive baseline pull up adverts doesn't go when
it reads I rebound for the Yost off side Reinhart.
Let's go for the three and off the lid off

(22:38):
of the rebound. Brod puts it up against the call.
Oh my goodness, I think that's on Dawson.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
It is.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
So wavea. Dawson picks up her second personal for Gibsonburg.
So here's Emily Brotman not the bree throw line for
Kerrie first free throw. Oh, she is Rudland from the
line tonight Oho for three. Takes a deep breath here
right again, wicks up and that one's good.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
All right.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
So Emily Broughtman knocks down that second free throw, gives
carry at eight to five. Leave a Gimson gird with
the ball. Henderson long pass ahead. Jimpington all she traveled
before and going across the time line. And sometimes the
officials don't call that. But James Porter, I think he
was right on the money there. Yeah, you can't take
that law elongated step before putting down the ball. Seven

(23:37):
turnover for gibson Burg. Carry with the basketball leading at
eight to five. Working inside, all good fronting defense there,
Henderson able to steal away four Gibsonburg on the move,
I threw my hands a dolphin out of bounds at
the baseline. Oh, she perhaps was thinking about the shot
before making the catch. Well, it's back to carry. Blue

(24:01):
Temples certainly don't mind that, leading it eight to five
with five fourteen to go until halftime. Yeah, and some
types of pressure is just so hot here when you're
playing for a district championship, So some plays where you're
a little more relaxed in other games, it's a lot

(24:22):
harder here and a huge crowd, and it's easy to
get caught up in that as well. But they got
to concentrate carry with the ball, working around the perimeter
with Ryan Hart lead double's leading it at eight two
five the four forty five to go until the halftime break.
The backwards Yos heads towards the Yark right side.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Pull up Brodman.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Wow, that's cool. So that was fifteen foot distance right
there for Broadman, right at the free throw line. She
makes it with the count for two to five.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Carry.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
It's Gibsonburg basketball. Gippoten inside to Henderson goes up to
the bolter who's been sitting for a long time, to
two fouls. She's called there for three seconds. That's on Henderson,
oh eight, turnover there for Gibsonburg. Number one, number of
hands like n so Molter who had returned just briefly.

(25:14):
She goes right back to the bench for Gibsonburg. The
hall is on on. We get a steel here for Fleming,
and then a reach and foul on Kessler, and then
she taps her own chest there indicating that I should
not have reached in like that number. And the Kestler

(25:34):
comes out of the game, replaced by Riley Stutes for
the Blue Devils. Gibsonburg with the ball and frailing at
ten to five. And I tell you Ellie Everards, who's
such an impressive player. She has had some really good looks,
some of them just with her own dribbling creativity, but
only two makes so far. Right corner shot going for
Fleming hits the three, so Gibsonburgh is within two. It's

(26:02):
ten to eight. Carry with the lead and the ball
stoops with it up high, works around the corner out
to a Reinhardt. She was hot with the three in
the previous game. Hit six of them and brobm on
a cross over till the bucketing gets the call shipping
in on the reed.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
It appeared, well, they may be calling out somebody else.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
There's some bird bomb under tam m chilled in. Okay,
they did call it on them, That's what it looked
like it was on Immagimoden Sophomore picks up the fowl.
So here is Broadman hits that free throw. Now she's
down in. Now she's getting them in second free throw.

(26:52):
All that one's off and the rebound Henderson for Gibsonburg
trailing at eleven to eight. That's reads twy having to
go on the ball, all deflective off of the hands
of Broadman. Not a bounds broad to scores desk. Yeah,
Broadman very active with the hands. He's one a great
job defensively for the Blue Devils. Gibsonburg ball Henderson on

(27:12):
the inbound sideline, gives it to the hole at the
right arc faces on stoops. Gibsonburg could tie the game
with a three. Flimming hit a three on the previous trip.
She has a ball high right side and now some trouble.
Two efforts hesitation up to Flemming passes left side. Jiffeted
her three try for the tie inside the rim ball

(27:33):
batted out by Hall unless they call it a foul. No,
so it is off Haul's right hand for Gibsonburg. Back
to the Carrie Blue tubles Emily Henderson giving the opportunity
to tie her laces on her left shoe, and then
she jogs out of the game and she has been
replaced by the five to ten junior Taylor Rat Carrie

(27:58):
Basketball facing some full court pressure. Yo, she's so quick
she's able to dribble out of it and does into
the front court.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
A said side stoops down low.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
In Phoenix lay up. All doesn't come much. He's found
and a Rap was the one playing defense there for Gibsonburg.
But uh and they call it on Hall though they
called it on Hall. Okay, so good stand up defense
there for a Rap. But the Hall picks up to
their second personal free throw is good for Bello Phoenix.

(28:31):
She is four or five from the line. Gives Carry
a twelve to a lead. Second free throw. It's up.
It's good Bella Phoenix. She is he was such great
calm in this game. Giving Carry a thirteen to eight
lead gives a Berg with the ball, two fifty two
to go until halftime. Hall, under hands of too Flemming
get the right side line guarded by Brodman, dribbles out

(28:53):
of the traffic. Flimming takes it too the lane. Put
someone right. Oh she troubled though, Yep, she sure did.
She took an extra step. Nine turnovers for gibson Burg.
So here comes Carrie with the ball. Ryan Hart passes
out of it to Brahminu tiptoes across the timeline. Blue

(29:15):
Devils leading it thirteen two eight, two thirty three to
go until halftime. See if the Blue Devils work a
little bit of clocker, if they stay aggressive. Here he
goes Phoenix. That's aggressive. This is on the right hand
layup and we get a tie up for the possession.
It's Carrie Ball. Stoops and Hall were engaged to Alena
Moulter comes back on for Gibsonburg to replace Taylor Rapp.

(29:41):
So Malter, she just hasn't gotten a lot of time
the senior starter. She got those two early fouls in
the first forty seconds of this game to win bound.
Stoops takes it up, blocked again there by efforts.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
That's her third block. Of this game.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
That's out of bounce off of her. So Carrie keeps it,
leading it thirty two eight. I need to go until halftime.
Ryan Hart with a baseline mbound Hole is in our face,
passes out Phoenix, fakes on the three. IT'SI Yo's pull
up in the lane. No goes for the offensive rebound,
tipped around and on the bounds off carry back to
gibson Burg Henderson. Emily Henderson coming back in for Gibsonburg

(30:23):
to replace Aleah Hole two twelve remaining until halftime. Score
is thirteen to eight. Carry and on the inbound knocked
out the bounds by Stoops, So Henderson directed to go
to the new position on the sidelines. When bound the
boy and gets it to Flemming in the back court,

(30:45):
surrounded by Blue devils, hands it off. Efforts passes over
the top to Henderson, hands it right back to Effts
across the timeline, looks to blow by Yos. The Yos
recovers and Efforts at the high right side directs of traffic.
Double team comes from Broadman, passes out of it to
malt Whistle.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Want to tie up.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
With the possession Arrow does stay with cats a berg.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
All right.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
So the peers the efforts to win bound the ball
for Gipsonburg and inside well deflected sole of my soaps.
Oh what a good defensive play by Riley inside to
right half for three. Left side doesn't go off. It's
a rebound for Yos out to Brodman to pull up baseline.
Who family Barman knocks it down. It's fifteen too, ain't Carrie.

(31:39):
There's one thirty seven to go and tell the break
a full time out, so and we'll take it.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Brought to you by the Crest Federal Credit Union.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
It's carry fifteen Gipsonburg, A glad you're with us for
a Matthewson agg Girls high school basketball game of the
week as they play for a district championship. I'll magic
ninety five to nine high school basketball magic ninety five nine,
one and a half remaining until half time. Gibsonburg called
the time out and trailing fifteen oh eight three right
side does it go? Dawson follow Henderson, that's off the bar,

(32:07):
rebound clear broadman. Carrie's got the ball back. Two Yos
try to add to a fifteen to eight lead as
we get close to her halftime. One to fifteen remaining
in the second quarter, and the Blue Devils they have
not been playing any of that hold the ball basketball
that we've seen in some previous games. They've been attacking
cross over her left side all on stripped of it

(32:27):
by efforts. She averages five steals a game. She has
her first all the way ruptling down and gets found
on the way up. In mind as well, don't give
her anything easy. Riley Students picks up the personal for
carry well, dudes, first second there Szuellie efforts so many accolades.

(32:53):
First free throw that's no problem, and averages twenty two
points per game. Second free throw. That's good. That's a
big part of how you average that type of tally
making free throws. She is two for two from the

(33:13):
line on that trip, so back within five is Gibsonburg
carry with the ball fifteen to ten to lead for
the Blue Deevils. Forty eight seconds remaining hotel halftime midquart
logo Ryan Hart to the left point. Phoenix goes around
the slip screen from Ryan Hard, dribbling around traffic outside Rodman.

(33:33):
I got high at Phoenix. Thirty five seconds left until
the break heads short. The fell unextended gives her right
back to Brodman, puts down to dribble against Dawson, out
to Phoenix, fakes on the three. She generally doesn't shoot
those a left side to Ryan Hart. That's gibson Burg
knowing the scouting report. That's why they're leaving her open there.

(33:53):
U hi Yos does take threes init and out head
and off of the rebound. Stoops loses it though two
hall well nine seconds of work with for Gibsonburg down
by five head to Fleming half left side efforts out
to three seconds. Here we go one second, lose it
on the way up and Tom expires and she looked
over at the official like she wanted a foul call

(34:15):
and none coming. And we've got a Penser Gibsonburg fan
standing up saying they can't believe a foul's not called,
but that will do it. For the first half of play.
It's the carry Blue Devils enjoying a five point lead.
Do they know that will not be enough to win

(34:36):
this game? They will have to come out firing again
in the second half. All right, we'll take the break
and we'll come back for your Read Insurance Agency halftime show.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
At the half, it is Carry fifteen.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Gibsonburg ten, which are Matthew Hunaker Girls High School Basketball
Game of the Week and District Championship Special What Magic
ninety five to nine in iHeartRadio, Terry going out there
with Riley Yoast, Rachel Ryan Hardt, Emily Brodman, McKinley Kessler,
and Bella Phoenix and Gibsonburg with one change in the

(35:13):
starting lineup. So Elena Molter is not starting in the
second half. She got a couple of early fouls and
she just has not been playing a lot here. So
instead it's Leah Hall who is starting for her. And
they've got the ball well on defense, I should say,
And here we get right Hart for three and that's
off the back iron, and there's a rebound four efforts
back for Gibsonburg right to left, Fleming all the way

(35:35):
with the left hand or too strong ball added out
of bounds off of Phoenix stays with Gibsonburg fifteen to ten.
The carry leads here at the beginning of this third
quarter of the district final efforts on the long inbound
pass Digitividen left side Fleming. I've had all the foul
from behind. Kessler sort of going through the back hands

(36:01):
on Hymns there for McKinley. She did not appreciate that call,
and that's her third personal So coach O Flaherty has
to make a decision how long he's gonna keep her
out there, especially while they've got the lead. Haul pull
up left to arc for ant Iron, no good offensive rebound,
Jividen out to Flemming off a ball fake in three

(36:22):
point land and up to Effarts a little jab, puts
it down, hesitates into the body of Rodman, splits through
the double a pie Hnderson left side flimming pass deflected
by Yosts left side Jippenden, Yose attach it to her
and up Hie to Everards for gibson Burn as a reset,
trying to get fifteen to ten, and we're just through

(36:43):
the first minute of the third quarter. Everards send sort
the right side. Good defensive for Rhinhart, but Everards keeps
on digging, pulls up baseline and hits anyway. That's the thing,
I mean, that's excellent defens there from right hard, but
just better offense from Helly efforts. So she's up to
eight points four. Gibsonburg trailing at fifteen to twelve. So

(37:03):
the the one bears, they are within a possession carry
with the basketball Emily Brodman to the right side. Here
we get along two here Reinhart doesn't go ball, bat
it around. Everards tries to get to it. Look in
the tie out and with the possession arrow it does
go to gibson Burg, all right. Gibson Berg with the

(37:26):
ball and the carry. Blue Devil's employee in the full
court pressure Anderson and the inbound into Flemming, who's able
to dribbled through trouble and into the front court, but
meant by Broadman stays in front of her, Flimming across
all you rip the dribble there Bartman, it's a two
on one and keeps it all the way. Lamp doesn't
go follow yos that short and Everts tell us how

(37:49):
the bounds They say off yo.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Could be Everts had the inside position, but that doesn't
mean that she's the one who actually touched it last
I couldn't tell. So it is back to Gibsonburg trailing
at fifteen to twelve to carry. This has been a
real tight defensive battle for this district championship. Two minutes

(38:15):
into this third quarter, Everts he only won the score
for Gibsonburg in the second half. The three is up
and that's off the lid. Now when a rebound for
Bellow Phoenix, it is Carrie basketball. Oh and then she
hesitated on the dribble and called for the double dribble.

(38:40):
All right, well, it is back to Gibsonburg. Eight turnover
there for carry, so Avan Dawson on to the floor
for Gibsonburg, replacing Emma Givenden. So Gibsonburg with the ball.
Ellie Everts with it up high, taking a yeos pull

(39:01):
up at the right arc front or no, and going
for the rebound, diving for at efforts and then diving
against Robin ever to get her out to right Hard
who gets her hands on it, called for the timeout
and gets it right to right Hard, heads up playing.
She was yelling time out, as was her head coach,
keithough flirty. Every possession so precious, and both Ryan Hard

(39:24):
and the head coach knew it, and they got the
call in their favorite quest Federal Credit Union timeout with
five twenty six to go in the third quarter, thirty
second time out, Carry Blue Devils A leading it at
fifteen to twelve. Action definitely picking up for sure between
these two teams. And when you see multiple players diving

(39:46):
on the ball, yeah, you know just how much these
players want it. And that doesn't just happen in one game.
Those are habits that have to be developed and the
instincts lots of one two on both sides, all right.
So coming out the time out, the kitten lead Kessler
to inbound the ball at the scorers desk into the

(40:08):
back court. Emily Brodman hands it off to the senior
point guard and the inn ten first teamer for a
second straight season, Riley Yost, left side line. Kessler holds
the ball above her head sends it up to ryin
Hardt around the screen from Broadman, who receives the left
point guarded by Dawson, under hands to Yost, falling around
by fleming between the legs. Bouch passed right side to

(40:30):
right hard Hon Diaz Everts. Carrie, leading at fifteen to twelve,
sent it left side to Yost, reaching in fleming. Yost
is able to stay ball strong to the left corner
to Ryan Hart, back up to Yost four fifty to
go in the third. In this district final, Carrie trying
to add to three point of the bounce passed down
to Phoenix midfield, but poul By Henderson a good find

(40:52):
there by Emily Brodman and Emily Henderson picking up the
personal the five ten junior before Getzenburg moved on some
second the second personal one Anderson sends Phoenix the line.
The Bello Phoenix at the free throw line. First one's up. Wow,
she has been awesome at the line. She is six

(41:15):
of seven from the free throw line. Bello Phoenix four.
Alena Malter number twenty four. Here's awesome, all right, So
the starter Alena malt she is back on for Gibsonburger,
making her first appearance of the second half. Second free
throw does not go for Phoenix. There may have been

(41:36):
movement in the lane, yes, and it's against Gibsonburg. Playing
my emotion in Gusenberg.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
All right.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
Well, another opportunity here for Mela Phoenix. Three throws up,
got it seven of eight from the line. Mellow Phoenix
carry Blue Devils leading seventeen to twelve, and the back
court efforts gets it out to Henderson in the mid

(42:08):
court and across the timeline to Malter and down low.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
Flemming extra pass up high here comes.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Dawson three side are no offs threebound Henderson and hit.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
From behind.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
Yep, foul on Nimily Brodman, lord of Gary Blue Devils,
second personal on Brodman. So when bound everards to Anderson
back to efforts at the baseline, pulls out the dribble
heads foul unextended heads toward the top of the key
keeps ongoing crosses over a few times met by Brodman

(42:41):
to the right point slimming looks to drive in cut
off by Ryan Hart back to the top the right
side efforts back pedals with the dribble looks the games
of space spin move, but they help defenses there from
Ryan Hart and he calls for the switch pass the
right side, flimming sideline Dawson flim gets it back at
the high right side trailing gets seventeen to twelve. It's

(43:02):
gibsonburg thunder four to playing a third between the rings
with the dribble flimming falling around by Phoenix left side Dawson,
a couple of dribbles against it right back to their
leading score of the sophomore efforts and then this yost
right in our face crossover on the blow by a
runner off the mark and bass Lou's rebound. Kestler passing
on ahead right Hard is alone from the layup, it

(43:25):
goes Carrie leads in nineteen twelve right back for Gibsonburg
falling down.

Speaker 1 (43:33):
Maybe some contact or just out of Ballengs.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
May just be out of Ballengs yep, So gibson Burg
does keep possession of the ball. Railing get nineteen to
twelve left side two Slimming guarded by Ryan Hardt, who
scored the transition just moments ago between two Flimming miss
fires tipped by Henderson, but winds up with Phoenix carry
ball needs some help, passes to Brodman and gets it

(43:57):
ahead to Yosts across the timeline and Yo. She looks
at her two eyes back up to Rodman at the
top of the key. Low dribbles here against Dawson, reverse
pivot underhanded right hard pull up long two does it
go offens a rebound Yo, Sin, we get a whistle
and a fowl. It appears to beyond Moulter. This is so,

(44:24):
that's the third personal on a Lena molt the five
to seven senior in the game. Yeah, that foul trouble
has drastically reduced the playing time for the senior starter
tonight because Leo Hall is back on it's carry ball
pass left side. Roden has the Satan from the sideline

(44:44):
and dunes to right hard right back to Brodman crossover
right hard quickly for the three good hard right, so
right hard knocks down to three. Coming off of sixty
three's performance against Toleno Christian, it's a ten point lead
for Carrie twenty two to twelve. Is that we get
a blocking foul for Carrie?

Speaker 1 (45:03):
It is on ryin Hart Jerry.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
First personal, Hono tol Reinhart Gibsenburg with a ball trailing
at twenty two to twelve, oh some blocked there by
Phoenix Most who sail low. She blocked down a timp
from Hall and with a tie up carry is getting
it back. Riley stoops Rushes in Florida carry.

Speaker 1 (45:30):
Blue Devils to replace McKinley.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
Kessler and Emily Henderson returns for Gibsonburg and trotting out
is Taylor Rapp carry ball with it leading at twenty
two to twelve, two thirty seven to go in the
third quarter. That's probabmen then too, the front court a
little hesitation down to the right side to Rhynhart, holds
the ball above her head, puts on the dribbling and

(45:52):
Jimminen apie to Yost to the free throw line, kicks
it out to Phoenix surrounded there good defense there for
Henderson is on the trumble up high to Ryan Hart
to Yost to the right side. Stoops pull up right
wing over the defense now and a good clear out
rebound there for efforts looking to put in the other
direction for Gibsonburg. A call for a tumble tribble eleventh

(46:20):
turnover four Gibsonburg all right carry with the ball leading
at twenty two to twelve, two o seven to go.
In the third Yost into the front court, bounce past
down low and is picked off by Jimmenen. The haad
to Flemming for Gibsonburg on the move and gets the
call wow. She just scrawls forward to the floor and
quickly pomps back up. She's okay, but the personal is

(46:43):
on Riley Jos for Carrie and they say it to
the act of shooting as well. Two free throws up
coming for Flemming. Wansley Flemming one of those two seniors
for Gibsonburg molt the other. Here we go a couple
of dribbles. He throws up that one's good for Flimming

(47:06):
gives her first trip to the free throw line to Night.
I mean shoots at fifty two percent from the line
on the season. See what happens here on the second
attempt makes the first one man that was good. Two

(47:31):
makes there for Amsley. Flemmings makes the score twenty two
to fourteen. So gibson Berg with an eight carry with
the ball leading at twenty two to fourteen, facing full
court pressure inbound to Reinhardt, who has gone through lots
of these situations. She knows how to handle it, but
they don't have all day. They got to get across

(47:51):
in ten seconds. So let's see. It's close in. She
got it across the line just on time. The official
there was giving a visual count.

Speaker 1 (47:59):
She made it.

Speaker 2 (48:00):
Carry ball from twenty two to fourteen, pass up high
to Yos working on Dawson, and Dawson put her hands
on her. There no call pass the left side. Here
we come to three. It's good for right hard. I
can right to right hard. We're our second tray of
this third quarter, twenty five to fourteen. Carrie coming underway

(48:21):
in a step to reference since she gets the call,
and maybe that's just what Ellie's gonna do a little
bit more, just get aggressive and taken to the lane.

Speaker 1 (48:31):
That personal on bella phoenix.

Speaker 2 (48:33):
For Carrie gee Man Oh, the everts first free throw.
That's good. Everags a seventy nine percent free throw shooter
into the It's forty number eleven. Mean she's three for
three from the line in this game. Pulls Gibsonburg to
within ten. That's a ball for the second free throw,

(48:57):
it's up, yeah, and as you would expect, it's it.
The Wolves gives a burn to within nine. It's twenty
five to sixteen carry with the leading the ball one
fifteen remaining. In the third quarter, across the timeline left side,
Rodman and stops the dribble, needs help, gets it out
to Yost at the left side. Defense flimming. Now to
Brodman working on Dawson on the switch. It's flimming on her.

(49:20):
Help defense comes from Henderson high right side right hard
let's go of another three. That one swirls off and
the rebound take it by Jivinden and they give it
up to efforts and the reaching foul on Emily Brodman,
her head coach Keith O. Flaherty protesting that call in
the conversation with the official James Porter, but of course

(49:42):
the call stands, and that's the third personal on the junior.
And you hate vouling Ellie efforts if you're the opposition,
because you know she just almost always makes it. Yep,
she's made it again. Five or five from the line.
Within eight points is Gibsonburg. Leah Hall back onto the

(50:05):
floor for Gibsonburg. For Dawson, second free throw does not
go yell Sometimes you don't make him. Twenty five to
seventeen carry with the leading the ball forty nine seconds
ago in the third quarter, Yost with it at the
top hole, comes up defensively left side to Phoenix around
the screen and takes it inside. An offensive fouls called

(50:26):
Flemming stepped in and took it. And that's tough because
that was a situation which the defender was moving. But
it's possible you could be moving and still take it
off of the foul. Oh and then Broadmon runs right
into the back of Flemming. Oh my goodness, Now that's concerning,

(50:49):
because that is foul number four on Emily Brodman, and
we still have thirty seven and a half seconds left
in the third, in the full fourth quarter to go.
That's why Keith o Flerty is there to make the
big decisions for Carrie. We'll see what he's gonna do.
He'll clearly pull her here, but you're flimming. First free
throw and all that's off. The lead does not go,

(51:15):
So Brodman goes out of the game, replaced by McKinley. Kessler,
Immageviden returns for Gibsonburg and finale Henderson hal the game.
Second free throw here for Ensley, slimming and all she
missed too, but off the rebount for Hull out to
three and that one is gone. Efforts with her ninety

(51:37):
four to three of the season, which might be the
most of anybody in the state of Ohio. Within five
its Gibsonburg twenty five to twenty carry with the lead,
hass up high two Phoenix eleven seconds left in the
third to Kessler drives it right side, cut off by

(52:01):
Hall changes the directions as Kessler four seconds left here
in the third inside turnaround stoop Snow and the rebound
underneath for moll toroneto do it for three quarters of play,
and this game is getting more and more interesting as
time goes along. At the end of three Hundor Wilson

(52:21):
Tar scoreboard, it's Carry twenty five gibson Burg twenty. We'll
be back for the fourth of this district championship game.
So pleader with us for a Matthews Townacker Girls High
School basketball.

Speaker 1 (52:31):
Game of the Week.

Speaker 2 (52:31):
I'm matching ninety five to nine Anti Heart Radio High
School Basketball MATCHIC ninety five nines. Fourth quarter time here
in Bowling Green for this district title game. The Carry
Blue Devils with a twenty five to twenty lead on
the Gibsonburg Golden Bears. So the inbound Leo Hall ves
it up, Ansley Fleming the right side, Timagividen and here

(52:58):
is the star of Stars and Lee efforts and side
with the right hander and leans in for two. She's
got sixteen points, Elly Efforts. We know what she's gonna
do down the stretch. She's gonna get aggressive. As gibson
Berg is within three. Carry with a twenty five to
twenty lead. This is where the Blue Devils have to
fill the poise because the pressure's gonna pick up efforts
on a reach there for Yosts with the dribble up

(53:20):
Pie to the right side the Kessler right foul line inxtended.
Ryan Hark holds them all above her head up Pine
a Yost defense from efforts again. See if the blue
Devil's gonna hold a little bit here. Phoenix on the
drive dumps it down low into Stoops lamps god oh
on a Pine bellow. Phoenix finding her teammate rarely Stoops
give me Carrie a twenty seven to twenty two lead.

(53:42):
First hoop for Stoops. How are we gonna carry my las? Wow?
Lemming is sort of looking like really, but that's the
call and that's the turnover number twelve four gibson Burg.

(54:05):
So we're carrying with the ball leading get twenty seven
to twenty two, just admitting gone by in this fourth
quarter of the district title game. Right side to Raytrol,
Ryan Hard guarded by Jimminden to the top two Stoops
left side to Yos around the screen from Stoops who
scored on a previous trip, got it from Phoenix who
had the ball right side, to the left side to
McKinley Kessler crossover and dribble against Henderson Son, No, and

(54:27):
I think they're calling a bump on Emily Henderson. That's
exactly right. Third personal on Henderson. The five ten junior
McKinley Kessler in a free throw line. Oh, here we go,

(54:54):
first free throw Kessler. It's good for McKinley. She's two
of three from the line. Six point lead. This could
be a three possession lead. It's gone.

Speaker 1 (55:12):
Twenty nine twenty two.

Speaker 2 (55:15):
Carry with the lead and Gibsonburg, I think once the
Cross Federal Credit Union time out with six thirty six
to go in the fourth, it's a full timeout, so
we'll take the break.

Speaker 1 (55:29):
Twenty nine twenty two.

Speaker 2 (55:31):
Carrie leads Gibsonburg six thirty six away from that district championship.
Perhaps I'm magic ninety five to nine and iHeartRadio on
the inbounds there, it looks like good at fouls being
called against Carrie on Riley Yo's for the blue double
leading againt twenty nine to twenty two with an attempted
inbound from Limley Henderson. So that's the third personal on Yost.

(55:55):
So it is Gibsonburg ball ell the efforts. The sophomore,
She's got it here I'm just twenty two points per game,
and that's the number on her jersey, and she's taking control.
It seems she's dribbling a lot though. That's playing into
the hands of the Blue Deevils. They would like to
have the le ball. But gets up to Jimmintin for
three its praise it him on. Jimmington knocks it down

(56:19):
for gibsonburg has Sigl and beers are within four.

Speaker 1 (56:23):
Right back for Carrie head Kiss Kessler.

Speaker 2 (56:26):
Don't get on her three try off the rebound stoops
start on the way up Soser too, yep, and it
is Ellie efforts. Sue picks up the fowl for Gibson.
Burge s sus the line, all right, every free throw,

(56:46):
every point is important. For Ralli stoops here at the
line a game like this, oh and that one dribbles
softly off the rim, does not go four stoops as
her first trip to the line tonight seems to dry
some moisture off the palm side of her shorts. Receives
the ball, rubbles four times, spins it, eyes it, releases

(57:06):
right hand and hits it. The Riley stoops one of
two on that trip. Pret Karry Blue Devils, giving Carry
a five point lead thirty to twenty five. Gives Bird
with the ball two minutes into this fourth quarter, still
plenty of time for any number of things that happen,
especially when Ellie Everts has the ball.

Speaker 1 (57:25):
She split through a double team to pass.

Speaker 2 (57:27):
Out gip it in another three in an out, no
out this time. Kussler with the rebound, then loses the
handle of the ball.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
To Everts, who get foul.

Speaker 2 (57:35):
Wow Carry wanting to push the ball, but didn't protect
the possession there. Riley Stews picks up her third person al,
so this now becoming a story the Blue Devils with
multiple players in foul trouble three there on, Riley stoops,
Riley yos with three and Emily brought men on the

(58:01):
bench with four inbound. Moulturl loses a bag Grey games
for Gibsonburg on right side, flimming. Oh. If Gibsonburg scores
on this trip, that's something to think about. How they
preserve that possession there and it almost was lost going
to other rich from the screen. Henderson now takes it

(58:22):
Heather the left side, falling around by Phoenix his efforts.
He can shoot it at any points since the left side,
jimpt in the left side three At this time it's gone.
Jimmington knocking down two threes here in this fourth quarter
pulls Gibsonburg within two. Carry with the ball lead, you
get thirty to twenty eight. Hell and almost a steal,
but Carrie's able to keep possession of it. Stoops down

(58:44):
low off the block. There goes from the left flock
Riley stoops give and carry a four point lead pack.
Oh my word, it's thirty two to twenty eight with
four fifteen to go in the fourth. There are we
gonna steal here from right on the right sideline takes
it away from jimmin Udon carry ball, leading it by

(59:05):
four with four forty one to go in the fourth,
the district title on the line. Hide all pass throwing
away by Phoenix trying to find Ryan Hart right out
of bounds at the carry bench, and her head coach,
Keith A. Flaherty just gives her a tap like, hey,
we just got to keep our heads in the game.

(59:25):
He nonetheless does pull her for Emily Brodman, who returns
at the four thirty three mark of this fourth quarter.
She's got four fouls, she's got to be careful. She's
on d right now in bound to Leo Hall into
the front court to efforts right side to Dawson back
two efforts, Elly back pedals four eighteen to go.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
In the fourth heads for the right side, step.

Speaker 2 (59:50):
Back three off the lens head the rebound, stoops carry ball,
hands it off to the point guard hurrelly Yost and
brings it into the front court. Oh, there's a reach
in foul by Flemming. Yep, Msley Fleming. Fleming picks upt

(01:00:11):
the personal.

Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
Burden, so Carrie inbounds.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
It, taking it in. Kessler's going to lamp in foul.
Oh my goodness. A breakdown defensively, a late contest by
Lea Hall. It's gonna be a three point play chance
here for Kessler. Hold cold for that personal her third

(01:00:36):
Kessler at the line, that's her first field coal made
free Throw's god, she's four or five from the line.
It gives Carry a thirty five to twenty eight lead
four minutes ago gibson Burg. They're gonna lean on their star.
Effs lost a handle, Leos hasn't and then gets cold.

(01:01:02):
More than that being a steal, that was just Ellie
Everts losing the handle.

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
Of the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
And that very well just could be the pressure here.
It certainly will not be her last game if they fall.
She's a sophomore, She's accomplished so much. But yes, she
loses the ball, she's called for the foul. Ever its
third personal. Here's Yost of the line for Carrie. It's

(01:01:31):
up and it is good for Riley Yost. So much
experience for Yost. This her ninety fourth game. She missed
one game as a sophomore, and obviously missed that opener
and the tournament against Cardinal Stritch with the flu.

Speaker 1 (01:01:47):
But she's back in healthy and hits two free throws
right there.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Thirty seven twenty eight Carrie, two big free throws from
the Yost. He don't even well, let's say now we
get a foul, reach it on the Kenley has that's
the fourth odd Kessler three forty seven to go in

(01:02:12):
the fourth Gibson Burgh there's time, but feeling the pressure,
perhaps Helly efforts. Let's it take it to the rack, layup,
missus rebounds underneath for Kessler and a reach.

Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
In wrap around foul there.

Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
And then Everts just taps her own chest like, oh,
I probably shouldn't have done that as she looks right
at her head coach no Everts, who's also her dad. Well,
well it does sin Riley Yos right back to the
free throw line for to carry blue doubles. First free

(01:02:51):
throws up. Well, that one does not go four years
after making a pair, and this is that one. Heavily
and her and returns for Gibsonburg, replacing Leo Hole a
second free throw for Yos, trying to give Carrie a
ten point lead back. It's up, It's good. Thirty eight

(01:03:14):
twenty eight. Carrie Henderson a long pass ahead to Dawson
and finds efforts. Everybody's eyes are on Ellie pretty much
all the times. That deep three off the yard, no
off the rebound Henderson underneath that doesn't go ball Bett it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
Out of bound by Bron Mignees.

Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
So it is still gibson Birg ball with three and
twenty one to go in the fourth and trailing by
ten to carry the bound to Henderson hands it off
the pass oh the hands of Belly Effts and out
of bounds, and that is not a good sign for Gibsonburg.

(01:03:53):
Fourteen turnovers for the Golden Bears. Senior Elena Moulter returns
for Berg replacing Emily Henderson. They definitely want Molders defense
in boundary here front court for Rachel right Hart crossover
dribble headswords is the Mesely cut off by Jimpenden, Pie

(01:04:14):
the Kessler and the Blue Devils. They might be trying
to work it a little bit here. They've got a
ten point leaders. We had toward a three minute mark.
That would make some sense, especially trying to keep the
ball out of hands of efforts. Here got the drug
yose and a fowl on the floor, but it's five fouls,
so free throws anyway. Five team fouls four Gibsonburg in

(01:04:37):
his fourth quarter. The personal is on Ava Dawson. Three
personals on Dawson, free throw yells and rules in.

Speaker 1 (01:04:48):
Relio. She wants and.

Speaker 2 (01:04:51):
There's no doubt it was hard for her missing what
would have been her final home game in that tournament opener.

Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
So she's back with the team and taking charge at
the line.

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
Riley Yoss gives Carry the largest lead up by twelve
three minutes to go in the fourth and gives a
bird bobbling the ball, but Evert's able to pass it
ahead to Jiffinden at the high right side carry, wanted
to travel.

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Call that one was close far side.

Speaker 2 (01:05:18):
Flimming drives to the who play up gold There get
count sub lunching fowl on Carrie's Riley stoop, so we
get a three point play. Chance is upcoming? Four hands
leave Flimming. Wow, and that's four personals on stoops. So Broadman,
stoops and Kessler each with four personals for Carrie free

(01:05:42):
throw Flemming, Yes, she got it to complete the three
point play. So it is forty to thirty one carry
with a nine point lead, two thirty eight to go.
In the fourth, it's all about execution here Blue Devil's
in the driver's seat and gives a bird. They match
of all, but it's the cleve steel Here efverts cruises

(01:06:03):
in for the layup.

Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
Within seven. This is Gibson verd.

Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
And the other direction for rein Hart and Carrie leading
it forty to thirty three. Oh and it's tall for
stepping out of bounds of the sideline against a double.
Uh oh, there is still clearly a chance for Gibson
Brd Dudd awesome time out thirty second question or credit

(01:06:33):
union timeout call for the Erry Blue doubles with two
sixteen to go in the fourth and Carrie leading at
forty the thirty three. Certainly we'll keep it right here
in this situation. And there's no doubt Ellie Everts, she
has been so strong throughout this season. Eighteen points for

(01:06:54):
efforts to lead everybody. You had to think about a
player who is a sophomore who's all already reached the
one thousand point milestone of her career. If she really
has the moves and the quickness, and she's had some
excellent shot opportunities, She's made some and missed others. Carrie's

(01:07:15):
made her work. So while the timeout, it is Gibson
Bird ball trailing at forty thirty three, unreversed layup, no
good efforts follow Dawson lose the ball between her legs
and let's see, did they get.

Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
The time out? Yeah, she's able to hold on to
it enough.

Speaker 2 (01:07:29):
And it was elliet Efverts who had the presence of
mind to call that time out to keep the possession
for Gibsonburg. It gets a full timeout with two oh
seven to go in the fourth and carry eliting it
forty to thirty three. Well, we noted that you had

(01:07:52):
the eighteen points for efforts and eight points for her
teammates Fleming Hansley Fleming able to step up here, particularly
late in the game for the carry Blue Devils, Rachel
Reinhardt with eight points. You get down a couple of
threes and in a field goal. Emily Broadman with eight

(01:08:15):
points on our own right, but all eight of those
coming in the first half for Emily the Bella Phoenix
with her seven points six points four Riley Yost and
remarkably yosts hold her points from the free throw lie

(01:08:39):
all right, so coming out of the time out two
o seven to go in the four playing for the
district championship, Gibson purd Trailer to get forty in to
thirty three to carry and bound to Henderson up Hie
to efforts on the dribble drive.

Speaker 1 (01:08:50):
Takes it inside, throws up with the right hand no,
but gets the call.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Clock stops and efforts the outstanding free throw shooter and
that she is at seventy nine.

Speaker 1 (01:08:59):
Percent back to the line. Riley Yos picks up the foul.

Speaker 2 (01:09:03):
Can you believe that Yost with her fourth foul four
Blue Devils with four fouls.

Speaker 1 (01:09:09):
Efforts hits the first free throw.

Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
Elly efforts is six of seven from the line in
this game, as leoh Hole returns to the Gibsonburg bench,
replaced by Elena Moulter. But here's a second free throw
trying to pull her team within five. Doesn't go and
rebound foot four underneath Stoops whist one to tie up

(01:09:34):
and with the possession narrow, it's carry ball, all right.
So Blue Devils with a six point lead, one fifty
seven to go to in the fourth of this district
championship game, mbound Emily Brodman passes ahead to ride hard
downloading got to Stoops and threw her hands trying to

(01:09:57):
catch it and then out a bound to.

Speaker 1 (01:09:58):
The baseline.

Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
And Coacho Flaherty making that motion and grasping his hands
like we've got to hold onto the ball. So let's
turn over number fourteen runofficially by my account for to
Kerry Blue Devils. Oh oh no, there is blood on
the uniform for Riley Stoops, so they'll have a few

(01:10:25):
seconds to address that. If they can't address it within
a minute, I think she'll have to be replaced. So
there's the pressure for the athletic trainer, Ellie Smith. She's
got the spray and oh she got to cleave. Oh
this isn't Ellie Smith's first serroneos. She's been at this

(01:10:45):
a little bit, so gets it done. Stoop's able to
stay in the game, but it gives him her ball
and driple here into the front. Cored adverts pass left
side three Fleming no off of the rebound in their adverts.
But then should go out she did at the baseline.

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Well, coach bo Efforts does not like that call.

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
But William Strawl, the game official, was right there and
made that determination. So carry with the ball, leading gets
for the end to thirty four inbounds to Womenly Brodman.
Right back to thinking the Kessler who gave it tour
It gives it a problement along the sideline, it gets
a double team passes su Yo Jilver to the left
side to Kessler. Won didn't have to go Kenseler sits
a three, doesn't go off the rebound, stoops and she's
hit on the arm. And there's no doubt about it.

(01:11:31):
That is on Ellie Efforts. She has just found out
the game. So the superstar sophomore. She goes out with
nineteen points and.

Speaker 1 (01:11:46):
Oh she is emotional. She'll have plenty more games. Again.

Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
She scores more than a thousand points in her career
so far as a sophomore does. She cares so much
about her teammates and particularly the two seniors, as this
might be their final game. But a big hand fur
helly efforts that her night is done. With nineteen points.

(01:12:21):
She was spectacular in many ways. That both ends on
the floor. That the foul trouble got her. Yeah, and
these officials have been calling fowls both ways. I mean
both teams with players in foul trouble. So it gonna
be Riley Stoops here for Carrie. She's got four fouls
called on her free throw up does not go there

(01:12:43):
for Stoops though, but Gibsonburg will have to try to
come back from what is currently a six point deficit
without their top player in efforts. Stoops wants to make
it a three possession lead for Carrie Will with this
free throw that goes. It's gone. Stoops knocks it down

(01:13:03):
forty one thirty four. Carry Gibsonburg with the ball under
winn and have to play flimming out the drive, lose
the handle stallid by Kessler reached in flet me try
to get it back, and it's right hard, who's got
it for the carry blue temples a minute and fifteen
away from a district championship. That's into the front court
lop side. Brodman goes by baseline, then switches directions. Since

(01:13:24):
they want to preserve some time up to Rhinehart. They
just wait for the bear's a fowl. Henderson reached in
so Emily Henderson picking up the personal for Gibsonburg that
is her fourth, sends right heart to the line to
Rachel Reinhart at the free throw line. Her first free

(01:13:50):
throw of the night. Oh, it does not go. She's
a seventy five percent free throw shooter, but that first
went off the front of the rim. One more free
to row.

Speaker 1 (01:14:01):
To go up eight. It's good.

Speaker 2 (01:14:06):
Forty two to thirty four carry with the lee. Gibson
Berg might need to go for some threes. Leah Hall
has it the right side. Flemming doesn't take the three
sickos inside the hole, spin moved down.

Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Low, hit the layup within six.

Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
Forty two thirty six is a cown carry with the ball,
and gibson Berg probably has a foul forty two seconds
here after right hard time is ticking down and then
we get a reacher for Flemming. This man a second. Yeah,
that's probably the best one that found in that situation.

(01:14:42):
Ansley Fleming. That's only her second personal So Rachel Reinhardt
at the line for a carry of forty two to
thirty six Lee with thirty nine seconds left. First one's
good for Ryan Hart. Two of three from the line.
One more free throw for an eight point lead. Again,

(01:15:04):
if she makes it, it's up. It's true for Rachel
Ryan Hard forty four thirty six, thirty eight seconds ago
in the fourth Gipsiburg get to the front court. Gott
a hurry here, they have a lot of time. Jimminan
left side. Flemming flings a long three all and misses.
It all goes out of bounds in the baseline and

(01:15:25):
the carry Blue Devils. They are twenty eight and a
half seconds away. Lena Maulter goes back in for Gibsonburg
and what may very well be her final game in
bound right Hart up to Kessler, floats a pass ahead
to Yost, sent it down to Broadman, and we'll see

(01:15:47):
if Gibsonburg given fouls here sixty seconds left and the
Blue Devils are playing keep away leading get forty four
to thirty six, and there's not gonna be enough time
for gibson Burg. That's Ryan Hart just able to hold
on to the ball against her left hip. Two seconds
left one they're dancing. It's over the carry. Blue Devils

(01:16:09):
are district champions twenty twenty five. Hogs all around for
Carrie has the Blue Devils winning over gibson Burg forty four.
