Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is the iHeartRadio high School basketball Game of the
Night on Magic ninety five to nine.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
The Magic ninety five nine high School Game of the
Week brought to you by Matthews, Honda, Acura, Read Insurance Agency,
ThReD Gen, Event, Realty, Quest, Federal Credit Union, the Ohio
State University at Marion, Central Ohio, Farmers co Op, Killer
Credit Union, Premiere Ontometry, and Fahie Bank.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Now let's go to the game. Yes, indeed we are here,
live and Sycamore. We're the hometown Mohawk Warriors of the
Inn ten continue their postseason journey tonight with a Sectional
finals versus the visiting contenders out the SBC, the Wildcats

(00:48):
of Elmore Woodsmore. Well, here we go. I'm Kirk Richards.
Glad you're with us. Versus Friday night postseason hoops on
Magic ninety five nine. This broadcast of ARSI boys basketball
is presented by Matthews, Honda Akira for about nine minutes
away from the anthem man that people continue to file

(01:10):
in here as uh yeah, this is where the stakes
are real. Going for a sectional championship tonight and the
Mohawk Warriors, a team that has a lot of potential
a lot of people fully recognize that with Mohawk, and
the fans do, and yes, we'll see how things ultimately
play held, but they are heavily favored in this contest.

(01:35):
Here now, Mohawk is one of six inten teams playing
for a sectional title tonight. We have the Intent champion
Colonel Crawford Eagles, they're hosting New London, the Carry Blue
Devils visiting Toledo, Christian Lube, Cyrus Redmond they are at
Ashland Cresview. The Senegeese Tigers they are at Monroeville. So

(01:58):
when you have Mohawker, Carriebu, Cyer Sinekes, they're all on
Division six. We also have the Buckeye Central Bucks in
Division seven playing tonight at home versus Greenwich South Central.
One En ten team already has claimed a secondal championship,
and that is Upper Sandusky attained last night's home win

(02:21):
versus clear Fork sixty three forty one, a game that
we had for you on Magic ninety five. Nine's this
Mohawk team that we're covering tonight, number one seed, only
two losses built to the same team, Colonel Crawford. Both
games went into overtime. The Warriors and their fans. They

(02:43):
certainly have a feeling that the senior Leydon Mohawk squad
can go far. The Warriors have ten players who are
seniors in the entire starting lineup, seniors for coach Paul Dunn,
and where people are looking ahead to March fourth, the possibility.

(03:04):
The players understand that they have to take care of
their business before they could get to the regional round,
but if things do work out, it would be an
opportunity to likely play Colonel Crawford a third time. Both
teams would have to make their way there to the
regional Bowling Green. But hey, yeah, we were talking with
Hunter Haynes just last week. He had that huge game

(03:28):
against Syndicate E's the ten threes, which is a Mohawk record,
and he made it clear like, hey, you know, we're
not overlooking any team, but we'd love to have an
opportunity to play Colonel Crawford a third time. And with
those first two meetings going so closely in favor of
the Eagles, yeah, the Warriors have to think that they

(03:49):
clearly have a chance if they were to play them again.
You know, I think about last night's game Upper Sandusky
versus clear Fork, and that clear Fork team got up
there by beating Ontario earlier in the week, and Ontario
had beaten clear Ford twice in the regular season. So hey,

(04:11):
tournament time, anything can happen. You gotta be ready at
the ball. And what we've seen from the Mohawk Warriors
all season long, as they have shown up ready to
go at a very high level. So we'll take the break,
can We'll come back and we'll have your Regenavent Realty
keys to the game and of course your Pillar Credit
Union starting lineups. As we get ready for this sectional final.

(04:35):
It's Mohawk hosting What More for Matthew's Hondakera Boys high
school basketball Game of the Week on Magic ninety five
to nine and Dieheart Radio.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
The Matthews Honda Akurra High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
High School Basketball Magic ninety five nine. About two and
a half minutes away from the national anthem here at Mohawk,
the Warriors hosting the wood More While Cats. Regardless of result,
this will be the final home game of the season
for Mohawk and the Mohawk wearors hoping to go on

(05:10):
a long run in the postseason. Then they've got a
team that clearly has that potential. Right now, we'll give
you our reginav Realty Keys to the Game. Very simple.
For Mohawk, push the pace and for Woodmore maintain the poise.
So we say push the pace for Mohawk because when

(05:30):
they play that tough defense, get out and transition, they
are really tough to guard, and even in half court sets,
when they decide to really push things rather than just
go through a long possession, it really does put a
lot of pressure on the opposition. And then we talk
about maintaining the poise on the wood More side, because

(05:52):
we've seen some opponents come in here to a warriorlan
and struggle with that the defense, it gets so intense,
and when you see the Warrior scoring on the other end,
it's like, oh, you know, and then things can compound. So,
even if Mohawk gets out to an early lead, as
we've seen in a number of games, for the Warriors,

(06:15):
would More be well advised to not get discouraged and
to make sure they maintain the poise throughout the contest.
So that's what we're going with our Keys to the
Game presented by Regina vince Realty. Now we look at
our pillar Credit Union Starting lineups first four visiting Woodmore,
they start five foot ten senior Brody Ish, five foot

(06:38):
eleven junior Carson Slats, six foot two senior Brady Thatcher,
six foot senior Isaiah Wilson, and six foot four junior
Camden Shorts. That's for the whole Mohawk Warriors. They start
six foot senior Kane Hayman, five foot ten senior Ben Bogner,
six foot senior Boomer Cleveland, six foot senior Hunter Haynes,

(06:59):
and six foot seven senior Connor for Love. Return things
over to Bruce hand them on the public address.

Speaker 1 (07:16):

Speaker 3 (08:00):
The Week High School Basketball Magic ninety five nine. Here
that's Mohawk where the Warriors are ready to host the
wood More Wildcats and in a good crowd here tonight
for this final home game for the Mohawk Warriors. They
try to win a sectional championship, and they know that

(08:25):
it's never going to be easy out there, but they
just got to continue to battle and if they do that,
they've got a really good chance here to do some
special thing. So that's really what it comes down to.
It's a rare situation to have ten seniors, and that's
what the Mohawk wearers that they have ten seniors and

(08:45):
for the most part, they all play, and all five
starters are seniors as well, So there you go. One
of the things, Yeah, they are introducing all the players,
which is a good thing is we've noted for tournament

(09:05):
games because so many players, even though they might not
get a lot of playing time, they nonetheless contribute so
much throughout the season, and a number of them are
primarily JV players. The JV season is over and now
they are totally focused on varsity play and a tournament run. Yes, well,

(09:32):
some of these players we do remember from last year
because these two teams did play each other in the
tournament last year right here in this gym, and Mohawk
was able to claim that victory. Yeah factor, Yeah, he
is definitely one of them. And if yes, these starters
that we noted moments ago, we'll set the table. We

(09:53):
can give you the starters again in just a moment.
But first it is the twenty four February twenty twenty five.
We're lying for some Friday night tournament hoop Summatic ninety
five nine between the hometown Mohawk Warriors and the visiting
wood More Wildcats. This broadcast the varsity boys postseason Basketball's

(10:14):
putted by Matthews Hot the Heckurra and would More Wildcats
have arrived from Elmore, Onttawa County, a trip of about
forty miles. The Wildcats entered this contest with the record
of seven to fifteen. They're coming off a loss of
the regular season finale to gibson Burg. Just past Saturday,
seventy seventy fifty five. Mohawk Warriors owned his contest and

(10:36):
home Floord Sycamore and Wine Dot County with the record
of nineteen and two. They're coming off a Tuesday night
opening round victory over Northwood sixty eight forty eight. Mohawk
is a member of the Northern Tenton Athletic Conference. Woodmore
belongs to the Sandusky Bay Conference. Woodmore's head coach is
Aaron Plowlinson is eleventh season and Mohawk's head coaches Paul Dunn,

(10:57):
in his eighth. As we do, these two programs did
meet in the postseason last year. Here in this gym
is for the first time in twenty nine years, and
Mohawk won an opening round contest seventy seven to forty one.
In the all time series, Mohawk has a two to
one lead on wood More. Wood More players are here

(11:19):
in a road blue designed with gold, and the Mohawk
players are dressed in their home whites featuring red and black.
You know, last year this meeting was in Division four.
This year it's in the newly established Division six, so
we dealt with the OHSAA. They doing things differently this season,

(11:41):
and some people are all about the expanded divisions, and
there are others who are not so happy about it.
But it is here we'll see how it plays out.
Obviously it will result and three more state champions than
we had before. Now, the winner of this game we'll

(12:06):
claim a sectional championship and qualify for a district semi
final on Wednesday night. It'll be at Old four to
face either the four seed Toledo Christian or the sixth
seed Carry. So those two teams are playing at this
hour at Toledo Christian. So yeah, well we'll get some

(12:32):
clarity on that. Zani goes along again. Six in ten
teams are playing for sectional titles tonight. We'll try to
get you some score uptakes throughout. All Right, it's time
to play some ball as Connor Flood jumps it up
against Hampden Schwartz and it is Flood and the Mohawk

(12:55):
Warriors winning the opening tap, moving things left to right
from our perspective from opposite scorers Town and they go
out to Caine Hayman for three. That's off the mark,
and we get a quick rebound for Brady Thatcher. So
Wood Moore with the ball right to left, and Thatcher
of very confident players. We remember him from a last
season here in this gym to Brody Ish at the

(13:16):
High left side, given room here by Hayman, and looks
like they're just spreading some things out to Carson Salt's
high right side. So with no hurry the Wildcats they
want to reduce some possessions of the piers right side
to Ish against Hayman to the top to thatcher in
the backup high to Slate's a little bit of contact

(13:37):
by Haines. No call left side. I say yea four
three and Wilson's first shot does not go from the
left corner and a rebound for Boomer Cleveland and the
Mohawk Warriors left to right at defensively by Ish right
side to Haines, who had that big shooting performance of
ten threes. Tough shot right side, no good. Haines rebound

(13:57):
here for Flood, finds Hayman in the lane, kicks it
now Hanes for three and he cutacts on its second
three attempt here.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
So.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Another Hans knocks it down. It's three to nothing Mohawk
right back for the Wildcats, download Schwartz the ball out
the bounds off Swartz or a turnover just could not
quite catch that ball, so it does go back to

(14:28):
the Mohawk Warriors leading in three. To nothing. Hunter hanges
he's the one who scored a three floats it inside
the flood down low out the left side, Boatner his
three inside person the rim no good and the rebound
for that with more ball right to left down three
to nothing. Here early in this section O final and

(14:50):
the Mohawk, because you get Carson Slates ribbles between the
rings underhands it two issh back to Sleeps at the
high right side against a double floats back to to
the top of the key left side. Thatcher for three
off the inside portion of the ram, and there is
Connor Flood statching his second rebound back for the Bullhawk

(15:10):
Warriors up three to nothing. Hayman high left side, takes
it at Wilson slop shot in the lane doesn't go hit.
Wilson clears the rebound for woodsmore right to left come
the wild Cats trailer get three to nothing five thirty
five on the first quarter clock, still very early. Thatcher
to Wilson not the left corner off a double team

(15:31):
path and reflected by Haynes and ultimately stolen by Flood
by the travel call. So if he traveled then he
did have possessions, so he does get awarded the steal,
but also a mohawk turnover each team with one so
far woodsmore with the basketball down three to nothing, Wilson

(15:55):
is one who's capable of changing that with one shot.
As the ball deflected on the bounds left hand by Hayman,
right on our side, and we're on the far side
of the eastcers desk just on the imbound to Wilson
back up to which dribbles out of traffic the right
side to Slates into the right corner to that you're

(16:16):
no good and the rebound for Boomer Cleveland of the
right for the Mohawk Warriors up three zip a crossover
dribble on the penetration, puts up with the right hand
that's like oh, and it's loose, winds up with Flood
backs his way in reverse layup. It's good for two
otto Flood just some patient offense. Therefore Flood makes it
five to nothing mohawk the wildcat ball for Woods, Moore

(16:42):
Wilson high left side that you're at the free throw
line to the right side Slates and three point. Land
gets away from the double team, then pulls it back
oh and then stolen there Hayman and then gets to
the head to Cleveland and he cruises in front of
layup seven to nothing Mohawk as we will get a
full time out called by Woodmore four twenty six to

(17:05):
go in the first quarter sponsored byye Quest Federal Credit Union.
On our Wilson Towers scoreboard, it is Bowhawks seven and
Woodmoard zero. Glad with us for Matthew Sondaker a boys
high schoolasketball game of the week. I'm aut to downty
five nine as they play for a sectional championship.

High School basketball.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Matt to Dondiae five nine right out of the time out,
Wilson missus a three, but off it's the rebound and
put back for Camden Schwartz. So Woodmore is on the board.
Tray thing get seven to two. So Mohawk with the
basketball deep straightaway three Cleveland and he switches to home.
So Boomer Cleveland. He is on the board. It is
ten to two in favor of Mohawk. Woodmore basketball. Wilson

(18:23):
catches a left corner and he's just camping over there
and the ball out of bounds off Wilson run over
number three for wood Moore. Yeah, and that pass was
just a bit too high for him. Actually tries his
best to try to secure it. But yeah, that's when
we talk about maintaining the poors poise. Yeah, you can't

(18:44):
start rushing things against Mohawk. Warrior ball. Haynes on the
catch and shoot for three and this time bounces twice
off the ten. Then we get a foul down low
on the rebound to tempt by Bogner. So Ben Bogner
called for the foul for the Mohawk Warriors. That's the
first vowel this game and goes to Bowner. So Bohner

(19:07):
heads to the bench and he is replaced by five
eleven senior Caleb bisch All. Right, so here we go
for Woodmore and Mitchell Gillig, five eleventh senior. He is
on for Woodmore, as is six foot sophomore Geffn Duntley.
So we'll see how the subs farees. Gillig has at

(19:29):
the left side between a double team, passes right side
to Slate, sends it right back to Gillig on the
drive baseline needs some help and the ball deflected winds
up with Slate. Those are the right side to Gillig
train to get ten to two? Is Woodmore a little
reach there for Hayman can't come up with the steel

(19:50):
and the pass down low in an open layup for
Honey messons up and the rebound Gillig down low, and
then we get a tie up call and with the
possession era, so it does stay with wood More. So
Parker Hahn, he was right there for a layup, and
I think he just saw Connor flood over there and
was concerned about this shot getting blocked. That's how it

(20:13):
appeared to me. At least here's a dry thatcher. Then
there flies there's a shot block right there for Flood.
N ten leader in that category. Connor Flood averages three
of those per game. That's his verse of this game.
Wood Moore ball traily get ten to two, two forty
five to go in the first quarter. The left corner

(20:33):
slate's high lift side to don Lee pulls back. The
dribble works around the screen set by thatcher, continuing with
its dont lee and over the slate's high left side
pins the ball against his right hip, given plenty of
room defensively by Hayman, who now creeps up and the
reverse pivot slate's help defense comes from bish slates showing

(20:55):
the nex territy gets into the lane, apuff the glass,
does it go and there's a rebound. Connor Flood is third.
It's mohawk ball, leading it ten to two in the drive.
Hey man, there's contact. Team misses on the shot. The
clearly got enough of a hit there to go to
the line. So Parker Hahn five to eleven senior picking

(21:23):
up that personal for woodsmore So, here we go out
to free throw line Kane Hayman. First one is good
for Hayman. Free throw shooting so important, especially if you
want to have a deep run in the tournament. Eleven
to two second free throw, that's good. They get twelve
to two Mohawk with two o nine to go in

(21:47):
the first quarter. This section O final wood More cost
a timeline with Slate the right side to Han path
picked off. It is Cleveland all the way and Cleveland,
who averages three and I have steals per game. He's
got one right there and makes the layup on the
right side. It's fourteen to two Mohawks. We see already.
They're just completely handling business. They take it seriously well.

(22:14):
Try to work it down Lo the hawn and in
our reach in their flood is calling the foul on
him and the piers. So first person all on Connor
Flood for the Mohawk. Worris six seven senior so Isaaya

(22:36):
Wilson returns to the lineup for wood Moore, replacing Carson.
Slates one more balls for railing at fourteen to two
at Mohawk win thirty seven to go in this first quarter.
How do we get to steal for Haynes it's Mohawk
basketball once again. Hayman into the front court, challenging Wilson
because I deflected thatcher but out of bounds. Good effort

(22:59):
there by that so Mohawk keeping possession of the ball
leading at fourteen to two remaining in the first quarter.
Cleveland a pie the flood back to Cleveland right wing
pulls up because there's no defender there. That was a

(23:22):
breakdown and Boomer Cleveland knocks it down, makes it sixteen
to to Mohawk. With one oh five to go in
the first, don Lee into the front court four with
more aheads of Gillig to the right side. That's down
the Gillig at the baseline guarded by Flood up high
and donn Lee shot in the free throw line. No,
it gets the right back hits pushhot goes through, so

(23:43):
Devin Donnley does some more is able to get on
the board there. It is sixteen to four, still a
long way to go. Obvious leave for with more Mohawk
with the basketball on the lead with thirty eight seconds
remaining in the first and piers that Coach Dunn has
directed the players to hold for funnel shot of this

(24:05):
first quarter possible they're passing it around the perimeter, and
now the pressure defense is coming from Thatcher and don
Lee and Wilson and Hayman and in flushitside to flood
of funs of the home oh an NBA style. Ally
you've been a two hand jam. We know that Hayman
and Flood they've been working on that a lot. Oh

(24:27):
that was gorgeous. Eighteen to four. More hawk, a shot
right side, no good for getting and a turnaround at
the buzzer, no good for better.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
So I think we might already have our fah he
Bank play of the game. If it gets better than that.
We were definitely being for a treat till at the
end of one. It is a mohawk eighteen and with
more four on a Wilson Tart scoreboard. We'll be back
for the start up the second quarter. Glad with us

The Matthews Honda Akurra High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
High School Basketball Match ninety five nine. We come back
to mohawk starting off the second quarter. The home Warriors
lead at eighteen to four, and on that in bounds
already a foul on Gavin Dunwee four woodsmore so a
Mohawk ball first minute, second quarter, leading at eighteen two
four Haynes has it at the high right side and

(26:27):
inside the flood deflected by Wilson, but back out to Haines.
Mohawk keeps possession of it. Send It's a chest passed
right side the Hayman who drives in. He's fast missus
on the layob ball tipped out of bounce by flood
and appear to me officials discussing here only somebody for
Woodenmore testing that may be. So Mohawk does keep possession

(26:51):
of it. U Pie to Fish fixed on the three,
takes it inside. Lab Cord accounts he's fouled Caleb Bist
to go to the line to try to complete a
three point play, and that person was on Gavin Dunley.
So he's got two quick fouls here early in this
second quarter. So Caleb Bish to the free throw line,

(27:20):
Camden Schwartz and Brody ished a couple of starters back
onto the floor forward More. Here comes the free throw
and Bish knocks it down to complete a three point play,
and it is twenty one twenty four. Mohawk alright, so
back for the wood Moral Wildcats. They knew what this

(27:42):
would be like. Shot left side. That's good for a Thatcher. Yep,
that's the one they really need to get going. Brady
Thatcher's so that's a good shot for him at the
left arcis first hoop takes it twenty one to two
six Mohawk with the lead and the ball hangs at
the top of the key left side. Hayman drives in
gallop step pull up his goal. Katee Aman, Yeah, that's

(28:06):
the type of footwork and shot that you work on
in practice and we try to pull it off in
the game and he that's all in the reach and
there maybe a kick on Kane Hayman. Yes, that's the call.
So not able to complete a steal there because of
the kick. It does stay wood and more balls really
get twenty three to six. There's a minute ten seconds

(28:26):
into the second quarter. They'll sit on the catch left
side path deflected by Bish but cannot save it from
going out of bounds at the scorers desk. But the
really active heads for the Mohawk Warriors. Oh yeah, hey,
but he gibbs over there and he gives Fish five
for that one. Those two they've been playing sports together
a long time with strong defensive backs for football as

(28:49):
well ed Hatcher. Thatcher was said Hatcher. Thatcher with a
shot at the right arc this time, so he's made
a couple of elbow shots each side and makes it
twenty three two eight. And here's a straight away three
for Hayman goal. It's nothing but the bottom silk here
on that shot is Kine Hayman. So that's his first

(29:11):
three of the game. Makes it twenty six to eight
in favor of Mohawk. Seven points for Kine. Hayman backed
for Woodmore and Wilson at the right corner to the
top two inch sends it left side, slates around the
screen by Schwartz, and a curl passed Wilson high right. Three,

(29:32):
it's off the lid and the rebound yank dal by
Cleveland the Mohawk ball left the right, leading in twenty
six two eight by forty eight to go. And second
quarter spin and move up Pie Hayman straight away three. Oh,
I think they're all long two Caine Hayman knocks it down.
They called it along two footballs on the line, makes
it twenty eight to eight, nine points for Hayman. And

(29:56):
we're gonna get a full time out here. Brought to
you by the qu Federal credit to Union so we'll

As we bring you back high School basketball Magic ninety
five nine, we see Carson Slaates take it up strong
against the trees for the Mohawk Warriors and gets the
call in his favor foul on Connor Floods. That's the
second personal on the six foot seven seniors to scores
twenty eight to eight and first Street twelve goes for
Slates to make it twenty eight to nine Mohawk with

(31:41):
the big league, so Flood goes out of the game.
Garrett Reinhardt is on six to three seniors. Second free
throw good for Carson Slats for wood Moore mixed score
twenty eight to ten. Slates with his first two points
of the game. Talk with the basketball Hayman the right

(32:02):
point to Bish send to the left side, Boldner, he
can make those. Let's him take the shot there, flips
it out Hayman, he lets it fly yep three more
curricade Hayman. That's his second three puts him in double figures.
He has twelve and gives Mohawk a thirty one to
ten lead in his sexon ball final back to Woodmore

(32:25):
high right side, Slates to Ish n buy Hayman down
to the right corner. Swards tries to find the cutter.
Thatcher of the ball knocked out of bounds does stay
with Woodmore as it was Bish who hit the ball
with his right hand for the Mohawk Warriors at the
baseline to Carson Slate's base line him bound for Woodmore

(32:46):
a pie to Brody Ish. He catches high right side
for Woodmore trailing, get thirty one to ten and get
it out to Wilson at the left side. Slipping the
screen Thatcher a pie to Ish back to Wilson shows
the jab oh he might have switch his pimotfoot and
maybe I'm wrong, but he had no call, so they

(33:10):
pass it out left sides. Lates three is up, that
doesn't go and to rebound for a right hard for
the Mohawk Warriors. Gets it out to Caleb Bish left
to right as he jogged through the double whistle and
a foul on one of the Wildcats that converged on him,

(33:30):
the one they saw was Bratty Thatcher. So that's the
first personnel on thatcher for Woodsmore. And as we get
an inbound and the shot left side, Kane Hayman noh.
He just looks so comfortable out there, and that's not
a good sign for Woodmore. If Kane Hayman's that comfortable,

(33:51):
it could be a big night. He's got fourteen points,
so he has outscored Woodmore to score thirty three to
ten in favor of Mohawk, and we go Schwartz inside
takes up against Bogner against the call, so Camden Schwartz
to go to the free throw line, Ben Bogner picking
up the Mohawk personal second personal on the five to

(34:12):
ten senior Bogner all right, so six for junior Camden
Schwartz at the free throw line for who the more.
He leases with the right hand and that is good
for Swarts to on our handes back on to the
floor for Mohawk, replacing Bogner. As we get a second

(34:35):
free throw here for Swarts up up that doesn't go.
That's the first miss free throw for anybody in this game.
Thirty three to eleven, we get a three. Hayman no
missed it all in that shot. Ud Ryan Hart was
able to get it down low to Bish and Hayman
an under try that went off the heel at the
rim and then the rebound plucked out by Carson Slades

(34:57):
for whichmore right to left trailing get thirty three to
eleven three thirty six to go until halftime. Slates with
it at the top between his legs left side, that
Thatcher right lane line goes up whis all and you
saw Rhinehart there took the contact, but it may have
been a help defender who has called for the foul

(35:20):
yep on kayleb Bish. So that's the first person on Bish. Yes,
that's true. That the free throw line his first opportunity
at the line tonight and he makes that one. Mix
score thirty three to twelve, five points so far for
the six two Senior and bradyth Thatcher second free throw

(35:42):
your nieces, but that's good. So for the most part,
free throw is being made tonight. He's two for two.
Slates is two for two. Schwartze is one for two.
Thirty three to thirteen is the count mohawk with the
ball and the lead into Ryan Hart out took Cleveland
for three shot, doesn't go but tracks down his own rebound,
heads towards the corner, sends a past high left on

(36:04):
the cross court Hayman on the spin back out to
Bish through a double team. Then find some help. Oh
lost it. Every gains whittle and looks like there's gonna
be a fount on the floor, pointing at to Wilson.
The Isaiah Wilson for Woodsmore picks up his first personal

(36:27):
foul six foot senior fourteen fouls. Woodmore in his second
quarter is a mohawk with the ball and leading at
thirty three to thirteen on the dry baseline left side
up and underneath fake Cleveland. He just has all the moves,
it seems. Oh, he's a smooth player. Thirty five to
thirteen mohawk, eleven points for Boomer Cleveland high right side

(36:51):
three issue. He misses it all there and Wilson unable
to save it for wood Moore run out of bounds.
That's Mitchell Gilly back out there on the floor for
Woodmore replacing Brody Ish back for the Bowhawk Warriors need
to get thirty five to thirteen, two thirty seven to

(37:12):
go until halftime, crossover, dribble, Cleveland break to the bucket.
Oh and that one blocked byce Warts and then the
ball deflected out of bounds off Bish, So it is
Woodmore basketball. Hayden Parker making his first appearance tonight, the

(37:36):
five to ten senior, replacing Caleb Bish for the Mohawk Warriors.
Because here we go with Woodmore with a basket ball.
Thatcher one on one against Hamans, Hayman stays in front
of him, a little chest contact right side, three slates. Yeah,
Carson Slats is able to knock it down five eleven junior,
so that it is his first field goal. They just

(37:57):
score thirty five to sixteen, five points for Sleeps at
the top. Hayman at the left art deflected and stolen
by Thatcher as he is off to the races against
Parker hangs in here hits the layup po hed So
gorgeous play right there for Thatcher, both defensively and offensively,
not only the second turnover there for the Mohawk Warrior

(38:18):
score is thirty five to eighteen. So Woodmore showing some
signs of light but still treally big Mohawk with the ball.
Baseline Hunter Haynes directing traffic a pie to Cleveland screen
set left side by right, Harder rolls, Cleveland sends it
left side to Parker off the ball fake to the top.

(38:39):
Hayman shot just inside the lane and it's good for
two more Caine Hayman. He's just all over sixteen points
for Kane Hayman has scores thirty seven to eighteen in
favor of the Mohawk Warriors. As we get a thirty
second quest Federal credits, Union time out and coming up

(39:00):
at the half, we'll have a Reinsurance Agency halftime show.
Will be bringing you some scores from other in ten
participants in Mohawk tonight. One of six in ten teams
playing for a varsity boys sectional. Upper Sandusky played last

(39:21):
night and won the sectional over clear Fork, so the
Rams are already into the district round. Their opponent plays tonight,
it will be either be Shelby or outover Gland or
Sue see if we could find that score as well.

(39:43):
One fifteen remaining until halftime, wod More with the ball
trailing at Mohawk thirty seven to eighteen. Thatcher upside, Gillick
down low, Schwartz backup Thatchers right away three hit and
out and then tip up. Gillig though tries it again
and it's good netroll Gillig Bake on a pogo stick
just jumping up there and get that ball. Good work

(40:04):
for Gillig has w Moor's within seventy so bohawk with
the ball leading get thirty seven to twenty. Hayman high
right side, just holds a ball at his left hip
as he looks over at as head coach Paul Dunn,
who is on his right knee directing things for his Warriors,
and we get a right side pull up for Cleveland,

(40:26):
doesn't go in the rebound underneath Isaiah Wilson forward more
right to left for the wow Cats traally get thirty
seven to twenty twenty seven seconds remaining until halftime, and
Slates has a high right side as he pulls back
with the dribble to Gillig, who scored on a previous
trip up high to Wilson who drifts to the right,
ooing and heads towards the mid quarts line. Ten seconds

(40:51):
left until half time, slips over to Gillig and a
blocking fowl called on Hunter Haynes from the Bowhawk Warriors.
First personal on Hanes just six foot senior, So Caleb
Bish onto the floor for Mohawk, replacing Haydenn Parker seven
point two seconds left to tell halftime in bound to

(41:13):
Carson Slaves for with more trailing at thirty seven to
twenty down to three seconds. Looks like Slate's the one
to take the shot for three and it's off the
side ron So that'll do it for the first half
of play. And it really at no point did it
seem that the Mohawk Warriors were in any sort of trouble.

(41:33):
They just look like they're cruising here. And there's something
to be said about having that type of comfort level
and also playing here at home, final home game regardless
of results for the Mohawk Warriors here tonight this season.
All Right, we all, we'll take a little break. It

(41:53):
will come back for our Read Insurance Agency halftime show,
trying to find you some scores from other end ten
teams as well. With our score at the half, it
is a Mohawk thirty seven, Wood Moore twenty. So glad
you're with us for are Matthews Hondaker Boys high school
basketball game of the week as they play for a
Section Old title I'm about in ninety five nine and iHeartRadio.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
High School Basketball Manching ninety five nine. Here a Tomahawk
where the home Warriors a lead the visiting Woodsmore wild
Cats thirty seven to twenty in this sectional final here
at Mohawk in the final home game to be played
at the Mohawk this season. Glad you're with us for

(43:13):
a Read Insurance Agency halftime show, and we're trying to
get just some scores from around the area. So let's
see what we can do, particularly the inten scores. That's
what we're most interested in. And looks like Carrie is
trailing Toledo Christian at the half fifty one to twenty one. Oh,

(43:38):
so yeah, you see that that Blue Devils have a
lot of work to try to get back into that game.
Buck Guy, Central though, appears to be faring well for
a halftime lead on South Central thirty two to twenty
six if you cyrus some struggles there for the Red

(43:59):
Man trailing Ashley Crestview eighteen to six. And Crest View
is definitely on those top level teams. And we're talking
about you Upper Sandusky winning last night game we had
for your magic ninety five nine claiming that sectional over
Clear Fork. The Rams next week will be facing either

(44:21):
on them with Glan Dwarf or Shelby. And from what
I can tell, a third quarter score either sometime in
the third or at the end of the third tied
to thirty one. Wow. So that's quite a game. And
one thing we do know about Upper Sandusky did beach
Shelby at home, did fall to Outwood Glan Dwarf on

(44:42):
the road. So Rams have experience with both the Whippings
and the Titans. And you know, we were able to
speak with senior guard Brock Montgomery last night. He said, yeah,
we're we're definitely going to be prepared either way for
that game, so that should be good. Thee uh, we'll
take one more break, we'll see about if we can

(45:03):
get any other in ten scores, and we'll also give
you the scoring from this game that we've got for
you're right here at the half. It is Mohawk thirty
seven Headwood Moore twenty oh Matthew time after a boys
high school basketball Game of the Week on Magic ninety
five to nine at iHeartRadio at.

The Matthews Honda Akurra High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 3 (45:54):
High School basketball Magic ninety five nine here at Mohawk,
where the home Warriors are the leading the with more
Wildcats thirty seven to twenty. So we'll give you the
scoring from this game. First. For the visiting Wildcats, they

(46:15):
are led by Brady Thatcher with eight points. They've got
five points from Carson Slate's three points, Camden Schwartz two points,
Mitchell Gillig two points, also from Gavin Donnelly. As for
the Bullhawk Warriors, led by Cain Hayman with sixteen points.
Bloomer Cleveland with the eleven points, four points for Connor Flood,

(46:38):
three points for Hunter Haynes, and three points for Caleb Bish.
So that's really what we've got going on right here.
And yeah, we got just some other scores earlier. Is
no finals, but yeah, Carrie trailing big to Toledo Christ

(47:00):
and Buckeye Central with the lead on South Central New Cyrus. Yeah,
losing to nationally Cresview. Couldn't find the Seneca East score
or Colonel Crawford score. Yeah, they are both in action tonight,

(47:26):
Colonel Crawford hosting New London and Seneca East visiting Monroeville.
We'll see about it if we can get it cool.
Right now, we're gonna focus back on our game here
as it is time for the second half. So it
is with more with the basketball going left to right,
this time from opposite the scores desk. As we get
a shot right arc does not go for Brody Ish

(47:47):
and it is back for the Mohawk Warriors, leading at
thirty seven to twenty. If we thank you for joining
us for our Read Insurance Agency halftime show to Boo
Mcleanland who scored eleven points in the first half, goes
out to the right side for Hayman his three front
hour no rebound off the bounce taken by Ish back
for with more down seventy first minutes of this third quarter. Yeah,

(48:11):
they certainly could just use some good open looks. They've
had a few, but perhaps a tad rushed and Thatcher's
been the main one who's been able to get some
shots to falls. He pulls up left wing and that
one doesn't go rebound for Boomer Cleve letting upright fripple
right to left war the Warriors leading at thirty seven
to twenty just one minute into this third quarter. The

(48:36):
Warriors looking all business, trying to capture it sectional title
and move on to the district ground series of crossovers
for in Cleveland on the ish I to Hayman reach
in there Wilson, He's called for the fowl and no
complaint from Isaiah Wilson. He recognized that there was sufficient
contact for that whistle to blow from the official chaser singer.

(49:02):
I think always been bringing out a good officiating crew
for these tournament games. Have to appreciate that. So Mohawk
with the basketball, Cleveland run the penetration, then scores with
the right hand. He's up to thirteen points. So many
times he just makes it look easy because he just
doesn't rus thirty nine to twenty. He is the lead

(49:23):
for Mohawk with more with the basketball with if heeds
it down to Schwartz working on Flood right side Wilson
for three. That's off the lid rebound for Flood. That's
with the Mohawk Warriors up thirty nine to twenty. Crossover
dribble Cleveland up high to Hayman and he's left alone
the free throw line and he just casts in right

(49:43):
there and the pop him. Yeah, just can't he leave
him open for that? That's just the bottom lines. Can't
Hayman up to eighteen points and it's forty one to twenty.
Mohawk right back for with Moore straightway through read does
not go for slates and it's Mohawk basketball once again,

(50:05):
galloping up with the dribble for Cleveland. Change of pace
on the acceleration, takes it up and found by Schwartz.
That's the thing, Boomer Cleveland could just sort of loy
you to sleep. He's just ribbling casually, his head and
facial expression so relaxed, and all of a sudden, Boom
takes off. First personal on Camden Schwartz for Wintermore goes

(50:30):
Boomer Cleveland to the free throw line for Mohawk for swindle.
Heckman does not go. That's the first miss free throw
for Mohawk so far tonight. This is Cleveland's first trip
take a free throw that doesn't go. But there's a
rebound on tip in for Connor Flood, so he's got

(50:52):
five rebounds and three field goals. Conor Flood gives Mohawk
a forty three to twenty lee. It comes thatare into
the lane, lose the handle to Flood. It's a turnover
right back and Hayman and knee puts in the little
scoop shot ah Mohawk warriors. Hayman up to twenty points,
so he has matched the full Woodmoor Ittally it's forty

(51:15):
five to twenty in favor of the Mohawk Warriors. The
Cross Federal Credit Union timeout five tot eighteen to go
in the third quarter, thirty second timeout for Wood Moore
led by the head coach Aaron Klaus. His the eleventh season.
Doug Burrow Scott Smith assistant coaches for him. So when

(51:41):
Klaus took the job in twenty fourteen, took it after
Brad Sander, who stepped down Klaus. He was a high
school player for New Regal actually during the Rick Damas
era and Klaus's final season as a player in ninety

(52:02):
eight Here we Go actually did get a regular season
win versus Mohawk by six points. But yeah, his current
team Woodmore trailing big forty five to twenty, and you
get a tie up there between Schwartz and Haynes, and
with the position arrow, the ball goes back to the
Mohawk Warriors. So yeah, it just seems like so many

(52:25):
things going in favor of Mohawk and not so much
for Woodmore. Mohawk with the ball leading in forty five
to twenty on the drive left side, and then another
two points for Boomer Cleveland. He just continues him over
a long fifteen points for Boomer, makes it forty seven
to twenty mohawk. Wilson almost losing that ball there. He's

(52:47):
able to tap it out to his teammate Slates. Oh,
but then we get a steal here. Ham on the
head to Cleveland and then winds up alone. He just
was looking around and then no one came up defensively.
That was bizarre. It's just sort of that type of night.
All Mohawk forty nine to twenty. As the Flood comes

(53:08):
up looking for a steal, doesn't get it. Ish to
the right side. Schwartz on the pull up, Ben scores,
Sir Camden. Schwartz knocks it down his second field goal
of this game. He's got five points. It makes it
forty nine to twenty two. As we head toward the
four minutes tomorrow of the third quarter, Cleveland out two

(53:28):
Haynes for three too strong there offensive rebound four. Flood
falls down on the shot attempt and the rebound. Schwartz
gets it out to Wilson looking to child nice crossover
against Bogner, but then misses a shot in the lane
and out with it. Cleveland long pats ahead Haynes. He's
got an open layup that's good for two to Hunter.
Haynes with his second hoop that's fine points makes it

(53:51):
fifty one to twenty two. Yeah. Well well yeah, the
Mohawk Warriors there strongest advertising. We've been watching him all season,
so yeah, we know what they're about. Leading a fifty
one to twenty two. So Wildcats with the ball, just
trying to find an open shot. Ish takes it and
then hits the three. Well that's a good looking shot

(54:13):
right there for Brody Ish to five to ten Senior.
That's actually his first hoop of the game though. Yeah,
fifty one to twenty five is a score Mohawk with
the leading the ball Cleveland the pie left side. Hayman
no hesitation on that three, and that's why he knocks
down his third triple. Kane Hayman just a wonderful job

(54:33):
he is doing to night in his game has twenty
three points as it's fifty four to twenty five Mohawk
right back to wood Moore. The shot left side does
not go Slate's rebound Cleveland he's looking to push it
gets away from thattor bounce pass down low Hayman. It's
a big night for Kane. Twenty five points for Kane.
Hayman nice assists there for Boomer Cleveland is fifty six

(54:55):
to twenty five Mohawk with more ball with two thirty
three to go in the third pie. The Thatcher crosses
over the left hand against Bogner, keeps it at the
left wing, turn around Thatcher off the heel of the
rim and Bogner comes down with the rebound from Mohawk
finds a point guard. Boomer Cleveland chalks up with the
dribble right to left, off to the right side. Hanes

(55:16):
for three and that one off the lib off. It's
a rebound four. Flood gets it out to Hayman and
that whirls off, but there's an off of the rim
but put back. No good for Bogner and in this
back for Woodmore and the ball inflected out bounced by Haynes.
His guess was trying to hold on to it for
Woodmore to Mitchell Gilling coming in for Womore replacing Isaac O. Wilson.

(55:47):
We also see Gavin donneleyon he's on for Campton. Schwartz
on the inbound for Widmore down fifty six to twenty
five under two to play in this third quarter or
the almost the steel there for Bison and deflect it
does come up with the steal. Here we go and
transition Hayman all the way. He's hit for sure in
the face, almost made the shot anyway. Cain't Hamen ready

(56:12):
to shoot a pair, Caine Hayman. Just gotta keep on
modering the law and the free throw that's dumped through
four Kane Hamen. He's three for three from the line tonight.

(56:34):
One more free throws. He's going for point number twenty seven.
That doesn't go though, He's still twenty six points. But
that's more than Woowood Mooreris scored. It's fifty seven to
twenty five Mohawk on our Wilson Tires scoreboard. One forty
to go in the third of the sectional finals. Really
no doubt. This one's all Warriors and they've been all

(56:57):
business on the steel. Another one here it's Hunter Haynes
put you in ahead, Cleveland left head lay up goes
and Cleveland able to knock downe down full speed. So
uh yeah, they play like this, They're going to be
tough for anybody. Defeat fifty nine and twenty five is
the count here in favor of Mohawk. Obviously wood Moore

(57:19):
with the ball, Thatcher on the drive and that one
blocked by Flood, but the foul was called on Hunter Flood.
It's a third personnel on Flood. The six seventh senior
for the Mohawk warnings says Thatcher at the free throw line.

(57:39):
First one's up, that one doesn't go for Brady, Thatcher
Brady Ish back onto the floor for Woodmore, replacing Carson's
late because that can rethrow Thatcher. It's his time. That
one's good. So one of two on that trip for Thatcher,

(58:01):
he's got nine points. Those team trails are fifty nine
to twenty six funn amnute and a third all right
side floods out to Cleveland inside the flood. Oh miss
on a two hand dunk. He comes back the other
way and that missus Jamie offers the rebound. Donne Lee
puts in for two. Davin donn Lee with the score

(58:23):
for Woodsmore makes it fifty nine twenty eight, thirty seven
seconds remaining in the third amen inside out Cleveland for three.
That doesn't go or is off of the rebound Flood.
They can't get it, but there's a follow for Bish.
So Caleb Bish with the hoop, he's got five points,

(58:47):
makes it sixty one twenty eight. If we get a
shot left side that doesn't go winds up in the
arms of Flood sitting in ahead Hayman lucid defender Missus
gets it back block by don leyon out of bounds
at the baseline, leaving four point four seconds. Yeah, Cleveland

(59:12):
can find somebody here in this inbound for a score.
We'll be looking at a running clock. Get it out
to Bish, pull up baseline, Nope, and save out of
bounds platonicspirer So at the end of three, it is
a mohawk sixty one and with Moore twenty eight. All right,

(59:35):
we'd be back for the start of the fourth quarter
of the sectional final. It's Sorr Matthews Hondaker Boys High
schol Basketball Game of the Week on the Friday Night
Badge ninety five to nine and iHeartRadio.

Speaker 1 (01:00:11):
We keep you in sentire company. The Matthews Honda Akura
High School Game of the Week.

Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
Fourth quarter time here at Mohawk. If we get a
three for thatcher for Woodmore trailing at sixty one to
twenty eight, ball winds up going out of bounds, left corner,
the Mohawk Warriors with it, and if the score two
or more, then we'll be looking at a running clock,
because that's the situation when a team takes a thirty
five point lead. It's a three for Cleveland and here

(01:00:44):
we go. So there it is Bloomer Cleveland knocks down
his second three, so we do get a running clock
situation twenty two points up, and then we get a
steal here for him and take to the other way
left hand short on that one, but the follow for Cleveland,
So Cleveland's got a couple more points. So Cleveland now
challenging Hayman for the leading scorer of this game. Hayman

(01:01:08):
has the twenty six points, but there's Cleveland with twenty
four on that shot. Sixty six to twenty eight is
a score by the way, as wood More with the
ball Gilly Oh, they're stolen by Bish. Richard ahead to
Hayman who hurdles the player at Gillick. Oh. Goodness, they're
just doing everything and Bish all the way Layeb Gardner,

(01:01:28):
he counts he spelled once again for the second time tonight.
Caleb Bisch with a three point play chance and Mitchell
Gilli called for the personal the five eleven senior. So

(01:01:49):
it looks like Connor Flood, Hunter Haynes coming out of
the game as well as Caine Hayman. So getting some
of these starters out of there as we got the
running cl six twenty seven and counting down free throw
is good for Bish. He's two for two from the line.

(01:02:10):
So sixty eight to twenty eight is the score in
favor of Mohawks. Six twelve to go in this one
and a turnaround is good for Thatchers. This will be
Brady Thatcher's final high school game representing Woodmore, so he's
just gonna play it out just as he should. It

(01:02:30):
makes you sixty nine to thirty. Hayden Parker in the lane,
loses the handle inside, taking out their ish back forth
with the More down sixty nine to thirty with five
forty five to go in the fourth quarter of a
round o'clock right side to Don Lee heads into the lane,

(01:02:50):
reverse pivot kick Coal slates in the pie ish for
three in and out rebound Cleveland. So Cleveland's still out there.
The Littlehawk Warriors crossover all what accorded to Bobin's side
and then call for an offensive foul, slipping in at
the last moment, Parker Han a little fowl on Boomer Cleveland.

(01:03:13):
I imagine Cleveland will be coming out of the game, Hero,
and I am right. Marty justin comes on to Boomer Cleveland.
His night is through with twenty four points. Sixty nine
to thirty is the count in pay for Mohawk. And
even as they continue with some of the administrative things

(01:03:35):
here Taylor bish He goes out of the game as well,
as he was replaced by Brandon Balloom four forty two
and counting down in the fourth Woodmore with a ball
Trainling gets sixty nine two thirty ifh front court right
side slates for Woodmore guardered by Blue on right side.

(01:04:03):
Here on the driving is in the whistle. You're gonna
get a foul, so Geared Ryan Hard over there defensively
for the Mohawk wears so he's called for the personal,
first personal one, Garrett Ryan Hard all right, so Urdy

(01:04:24):
is shut the line. This is on his first free
throw attempto the night. Carter Wolper sixty three senior gets
his first appearance of this game for Old the more
he's in a lane as his teammate Brdy just prepares

(01:04:46):
second free throw. That one's off as well, but he's
able to get his own off as a rebound and
shoots a three right side, doesn't go, and the rebound
for Ryan Hart, Mohawk leading get sixty nine to thirty
or three and a half to go. In the fourth quarter,
Parker passes to the front court right side Bogner and
now to Bloom for three. That's off the rim. Then

(01:05:07):
the rebound stuffed out there by Parker. Ha it's Woodmore
ball left to right, the three, fourteen to go in
the fourth Trying to get a few more points on
the board. Impossible if you're wood Moore driving in and
Thatcher no good gets it right back and puts it through.
So Grady Thatcher, he's up to thirteen points four with

(01:05:29):
More makes it sixty nine to thirty two Mohoka. The
leading ball Bogner high right side with two fifty to
go in the fourth to the top to Ryan Hart
ball deflected bloom and the left corner. Three, that's off
the mark and the rebound winds up with Thatcher weak
