Carolyn and Cork.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Good Morning.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
It is April eighteen, twenty twenty five, and it's six
oh six.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
So if you're looking for something to do this weekend,
I'm going to totally help you out. Okay, Well, there's
a bunch of basketball games happening this weekend, and if
you're into basketball, great, But if you're not into basketball
but you love Will Ferrell, oh, then you are in
for a treat because he's teaming up once again with PayPal. Yes,
you might have seen some of the commercials, but in
this new commercial, which will debut this weekend, he's going
(00:35):
to sing his rendition once again of Fleetwood Max go
your Own Way.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
But isn't he doing it in a bathtub? In a bathtub?
That's what I heard? So yeah, I love this.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
So tonight you're gonna get a teaser, and then throughout
the weekend you're going to see the commercial during the
weekend basketball game.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
I think this is gonna be great.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
So check out the teaser tonight and the commercial during
basketball games all weekend long and coming up on the
show this morning, we've got more Little Riverband tickets. Of
course we're going to do that at eight twenty. They're
going to be playing at Cash Creek Casina Resort on
May second.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yeah, this has been fun because we're not only sending
you to the show May second, but we're also giving
you an overnight stay so you don't have to worry
about us hurrying on back to the home.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
It's cute because hurrious scurrying on too your home.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Gotta get hold you think.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
No, we've been obviously doing this all week and every
single person that has won has been just so excited
about going to see a Little Riverband alone. And then
it's like, oh, and you get to stay at Cash
Creek Casina Resort overnight on top of it, and they're like,
this is amazing. So eight twenty, we will do that
again this morning here on the Breeze.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
And of course coming up this morning, six twenty five,
it's the Morning Breeze Brain tease. Okay, thirty four percent
of people say they typically don't do this until after
three pm.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Thirty four percent of people, so this is like a
third of everyone. Thank you, you're welcome.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
That's what I do sound like something I would say,
state the obvious. Please. Thirty four percent of people, so
one thirty people surveyed, SOA, they typically don't do this
until after three pm.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Okay, eight seven, seven nine eight, one oh nine eight one.
The Morning Breeze Brain Teas we're gonna play at six
twenty five right here on the breeze A breeze. Good morning,
Happy Friday morning. It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Court. It's time for the Morning Breeze Brain Tease
sponsored by Mike Counsel Plumbing. You're in clean hands with
Mike Council Plumbing. Visit them at mc plumbing dot com.
(02:31):
I don't think we've had anybody get any of the
answers right this week.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Oh, we were in a bit of a drought when
it comes to correctness.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Last week we had a ton of people like I
think three out of the five days.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
So let's see how we do this morning.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Here's the question. Thirty four percent of people say they
typically don't do this until after three pm.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Eight seven seven nine, eight one oh nine eight one.
Good morning, Nancy and San Jose. What is your guest
this morning? Sit down and relax sit down and relax.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Oh are you guessing that?
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Because yes, you go, go go, and then after three,
you know you can just can kind of take a
chill a little bit.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
That's my answer.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Yeah, I like that answer, not the right one.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
I should have known.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Well, thanks for having us on in your uber though.
We really appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
Going to pick someone up and get him to a
doctor appointment.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
You're the best. Well, thank you for having us on.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Yes, ma'am. Stock to you guys too, Ray more than you.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Bye, okay, Jesse and Robert.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
So you guys are in a truck together in Walnut
Creek trying to play the brain teas.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
You've got a collective guess.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
What is it?
Speaker 6 (03:40):
What do you pick up?
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Pick up your kids from school? That makes total sense?
Oh yeah, and the logic is right there. You know what.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
The only reason I think that might not be it
is it's thirty four percent. I feel like picking up
your kids from school will be a higher percentage.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
But some people don't pick up their kids.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Oh that's true. Yeah, well, I mean eventually the kids
come home. Sure, I'm like, they don't pick them up
at all? You hope.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Is that the answer?
Speaker 3 (04:06):
That is not the answer though, But Robert and Jess,
I think that's really strong, solid guests, correct answer.
Speaker 6 (04:12):
I thank Thirty.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Four percent of people say they typically don't drink water
until after three pm. Not crazy.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
So you guys are out and you drive around for work,
you're on the road all the time. Are you drinking
water throughout the day?
Speaker 6 (04:26):
Oh yeah, we got our little We got our little
drinking mugs here. We got five gallon water buckets on
the side.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
So you guys are the guys that when it's one
hundred and ten degrees outside, we see you working outdoors
with the igloo coolers hanging from your trucks.
Speaker 6 (04:43):
Oh yeah, yeah, we got the cooler. Bandana is on.
We got a little bit of everything that are work
as well.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Wow, start hydrating early when you work outside.
Speaker 6 (04:54):
Yeah that's well.
Speaker 2 (04:56):

this game with both of you today.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Means we're doing our job.

on the Breeze.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and the
beg's at six forty one, and now is time for
you to ask us anything, your chance to ask us anything.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Good job, Court. So we've got Marhlia in the studio
with us this morning. Yes, and Marhlia is one of
our coworkers.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Good morning. Isn't her voice beautiful?
Speaker 3 (06:01):

I do promo assisting and I also help with a
digital lead lately.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
So you said you've got to ask us anything for today.
Speaker 7 (06:13):
So my question for both of you would be, if
you weren't in radio, what would you think you'd be
doing anything similar to that.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Wow, if you weren't in radio, what would you be doing?
I don't know. That's I haven't really thought about it
because I've fortunately been able since I was twenty one
twenty two, I've worked in radio. You I think even earlier.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
I know, I think I would have to go back
into sales.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
For me, you would be a good salesperson. I was
great at sales.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Did I like it? Not so much? Okay, I prefer this,
but I think that would be my fallback.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
To go back. I say, you got to do something
you love.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
I know.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
That's why I don't know.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
What would you do my dream job as I would
love to be a travel host host a travel show.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Oh well, it's good to know that you're not working
your dream job. My dream job, Helia, for asking this,
I can find out this information my.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Dream job if I were not doing the Morning Breeze
with you, Carolyn, Okay, we'd be hosting a travel show. Okay,
although if somebody came asking.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
What, well, this has been eye opening, Marhela, A good question.
Thank you and thank you for hanging out with us
this morning.
Speaker 7 (07:19):
Thank you for having me.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
And if you've got a question that it's on your mind,
that's stuck in your craw something people say right. You
can always call us eight seven seven nine eight one,
nine eight one, or send your questions via our free
iHeartRadio app use that talkback feature.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Yes, we do ask us anything every weekday morning at
six point forty and coming up this morning at eight twenty,

Speaker 2 (07:53):
It is the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. Happy
Friday morning to you. Speaking of Friday, is this this
is when we do the big reveal of our Morning
Breeze Person of the Week.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
We do it every Friday morning. Yeah, we're celebrating people
in the Bay Area doing good things and oftentimes not
being recognized for those things. Absolutely, today's Person of the
Week fits the bill to a tea.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yeah, you were just saying a couple of minutes ago
that this person does so much in one day and
then does it every day like we're not sure how
she's able to do this. Yeah, this week, it's Jessica
who nominated Reason to be this week's Morning Breeze Person
of the Week. So, Jessica, before we talk to Reason,
tell us why you nominated her.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
She's actually a really good friend of mine, but she's
also a mom in our group, so she actually I
there's like a group of moms that our boys go.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
To school together.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
She's actually president of the Home and School club, so
she's always looking out for the boys. She's looking out
for all the kids at school. She actually got the
sixth grade class, which our boys are in sixth grade.
She got them to go to science camp this year
after a ten year hiatus. So she's always looking to
help out, whether it's the moms or you know, the community,
(09:05):
or just basketball. So she's always helping with snacks and
stuff like that, getting coordinated, and so we just wanted
to let her know that we really appreciate everything she
does for us.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
It sounds like Reason completely fits the description we use
often when we talk about the Morning Breeze Person of
the Week of somebody who goes above and beyond, because
everything you just described seems like she does a lot,
and then she goes a step further.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
Yes, and she of course is a full time mom.
She obviously has a job as well, so she does
all this on top of that.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
I actually assumed that she didn't have a job based
on what you were describing.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
So this is crazy. She do it all time?
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah, right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
There's like always the person in the group, whether it's
a mom or a dad, that takes over and organizes everything,
where you just start to lean on that person and
assume they're going to be the one that organizes the
field trips, they're going to be the ones that organize practices.
And then that I realized after a while that that
person and just does that and they never get credit,
Which is why I love so much that you're nominating
(10:04):
her for Person of the Week.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
Yeah, she would totally never think that, right she would
be getting this nomination.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Okay, we're going to try and call Reason right now
and bring her on with us. One sack. Hello is
this Reason?
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Yes, Reason, This is Carolyn and Cord from ninety eight
point one The Breeze.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (10:25):
Oh Hi, how are you?
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Good morning?
Speaker 1 (10:28):
We're good. So it's not just us, we also.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Have Jessica with us on the phone.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
Hi.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Reason, so many surprises, so quickly in your day.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
So many surprises.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
So we're calling you because you are the person of
the week, because you do so much for us as
far as a basketball the president of the Home and
School club. You're always looking out for our boys, and
you just go above and beyond. So that's why I
nominated you.
Speaker 6 (10:56):
Oh how sweet.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
I feel like you guys are best friends too, Like
you're such a voye together.
Speaker 6 (11:05):
We are low key bestie.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
I could just tell so cute. Yeah, so so. Reason.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
We do a feature every week called the Morning Breeze
Person of the Week, and every Friday morning, we award
someone as our Person of the Week, but that person
is nominated by people in our listening audience, and in
this case, Jessica wrote to us and told us about
all of the amazing things that you do, so we
wanted to call and surprise you.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
Oh my gosh, that's so sleep.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Reason that the surprises keep going though, because in addition
to being the Morning Breeze Person of the Week, we're
also going to send you out on a cruise on
the Bay, a brunch for two on the Bay, courtesy
of City Cruises.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Oh my gosh, stop what you're gonna have eggs and
bacon and sausage.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
I recommend the French toast.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
He's big on the French toast, so go enjoy.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Oh thank god. This is why we do this because
there are so many people that go unrecognized that just
out of the goodness of their hearts. They're not trying
to win anything. They just do this because it's the
right thing to do. So it gives us a chance
to highlight people like you that do all these great
things for people in our community.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
I'm right, well, then our work here is done. That's
how we know we made the right pick.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
Oh my gosh, thank.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
You so much. You deserve it.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
Jeck, I love you well.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
We're grateful for everything that you do.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Also, you can tell your besties when your voices are
starting to morph into one another's.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
At one point, I'm like, I don't even know who's
talking now it's like the same person. Yep, thank you. No,
you guys are great. We'll go have a good day.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Jessica, thank you for nominating reasons. She is absolutely perfect.
So what a great phone call.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 6 (12:55):
You guys are too much.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Thank you. I was not expected.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
It doesn't happen to me.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Well it should and it did, so.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
Thank you guys.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
You are so welcome.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
If there is somebody in your life like reason that
you would like to nominate for the Morning Breeze Person
of the Week, it's easy to do. Just hop on
our website ninety eight oneth Breeze dot com.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Okay, so Easter is on Sunday, obviously, and I was
thinking back to when I was a kid. You know,
growing up, my parents made a deal with the Easter
bunny that the Easter bunny would bring my Easter basket, right,
but my parents would hide the eggs.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Okay, they were in charge of the egg hunt.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
The egg hunt, and there are four of us, four kids,
so my parents would go out and hide the eggs
in the yard, give the Easter bunny the night off
or the morning off. But without fail, every year there
would be an egg that remained somewhere in the backyard
that my parents would not be able to find it.
(13:55):
And months would go by and my mom would be
out like working in the garden or something, and she'd say,
guess what I just found now, ours of.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
This blue Easter egg.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Do you remember was this old school Easter eggs or
it was an actual hard boiled egg.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Had the Hawes Is it Hawes?
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Or has the dying where you had that little wire
thing and you had to balance the e on the wire.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Pill the pill.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Remember that those are the days that still it still
kind of works that way.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Did that happen with you guys like you know?
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Well, I don't. Is when I was a kid, there
were just too many kids in my family for us
to do Easter egg hunts. Eight kids. Think of how
many eggs you'd have to boil and colorn't make it
worth anybody's while. So we didn't do the egg hunts
in my family because again my parents were also in
charge of that. Give me the Easter bunny the day off.
But my daughters we've always done it. But we did
(14:50):
the you know, plastic eggs to put like jelly beans.
And I remember one year at a cousin's place, we
were doing it with all the cousins and there's still
a missing egg in that backyard. So every time I
go to that backyard, I try to find the egg
because we kind of know roughly where it went missing. Yeah,
(15:11):
but we can't find it.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Well, okay, so this is funny. So one year after Easter,
to your point, I was in like our old house
and I was in the kitchen. I found a notepad.
It was my mom's handwriting, and all I saw was
planter box, pool equipment. Oh dog pen Like. She had
a list of where she hid the eggs, but she
(15:34):
had to keep track because four of us times a dozen.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Eggs keep tracks. Oh my gosh, that was so much work.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Oh yeah, So if it's happened to you, and it's
happened to me, I'll bet it's happened to people that
are listening. So if you ever had this situation where
you're giving the Easter bunny the night off, you're the
one hiding the eggs, and then you can't remember months
later you find this egg or a story similar to that,
we'd love to hear from you.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
It could be me this weekend, because for the first
time in years, my seventeen year old daughter Sloan has said,
I would like to have an Easter egg hunt. That
is cute bringing it back, that's awesome. All right, we're
at eight seven, seven, nine, eight one oh nine to
eight one. You can always send us a message with
our iHeartRadio app. Just use that talkback Mike. It's super easy.
And on the way. This morning at eight twenty we've
(16:17):
got your chance to win those tickets to see the
Little Riverband. They're gonna be at Cash Creek Casino Resort
May second, and we would love to send you.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Not only are you going to get to see Little
Riverband and hear them sing all of their hits, but
you are going to get to stay the night. We're
going to put you up with a one night's stay
at Cash Creek Casino Resort as well, so you can
kind of make a weekend out of it. That's right,
So be here at eight twenty year chance to win
on the Breeze.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court. This morning,
we're talking about Easter traditions.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
And specifically back in the day when our parents would
give the Easter bunny the night off and they would
hide the eggs, and then there was always an egg
that went missing unfound for months at a time.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Sue and Santos say, good more.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
We have a large family and now we have two
Easter egg hunts. One is in the morning for the kids,
and then in the evening, the kids hide the eggs
for the adults, and the adult eggs are the larger
plastic eggs, and they have things like the individual travel
bottles of liquor and lottery tickets five dollars bill stuff
(17:28):
that the adults would like. So we have a blas, what.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Is your address? I'm coming over for Easter? Who came
up with that idea? That's great? I think it was me.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
You're a genius. That's how brilliant. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
You guys make my day every day.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court at eight eleven.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
So I want you to tell me Court, what you
would have done in this situation. Something that happened to
me last night. Okay, I was MCing or hosting an
event for Awesome Cause here in the Bay Area, and
there was like a cocktail reception, and this poor waitress
was bringing a cart like on wheels with two levels
(18:17):
on it, like there was the upper deck of the
cart in the lower deck, and she had ceramic plates stacked.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Right on the top of this. I think I know
where this is going.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
So she was wheeling it up a little bit of
a ramp and all of a sudden, we just heard
the hugest crash. Yeah, I mean it sounded like every
plate on that cart hit the deck. It was ceramic
crashing onto cement, and I just felt ceramic hitting me
(18:50):
in the leg right sure. And I immediately felt so
bad that this happened to this woman.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
So me and one.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Other guy we were like, oh my gosh, and we're
trying to help her pick up because we felt you
could see it.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
On a face terrible, mortified. I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
As I'm helping clean up the ceramic, I'm like, I
think there's something in my shoe and it's poking my
foot of ceramic. Yes, now here's my question.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
What would you have done?
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Because I didn't want to make her feel worse by
taking off my shoe and getting the ceramic out of
it that was poking me in the foot, so I
will hobbled away. No, I helped clean up in pain,
and once every shard of ceramic was picked up, I
went around a corner and I took off my shoe
(19:43):
and I turned it upside down and the piece.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
Fell out on the ground.
Speaker 6 (19:46):
Thing.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Seriously, I think you did the right I mean, are
you permanently maimed.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
No, not at all. And I'm I do think I
made the right decision in the moment. But you know,
when you feel so bad for somebody, I mean it's
like I would have been in pain all night for
her to not make her feel bad.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 3 (20:02):
I would the right thing. I thought, what you were
going to say, what happened? Because when I was in
college and I was like in eating in the big cafeterias,
if somebody spilled their trade and you know, broke plates
and stuff, everybody would stand up in flap.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
That's so annoying.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
People in college are kind of your young experience. I
realize it's embarrassing, but I think they thought, oh, we'll
just we'll just all lean into it.
