The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on Demand.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Good morning, it is The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
It's April twenty fourth, twenty twenty five, and I think
I am just now thawing out from how cold it
was last night at the Giant's game and just everywhere
in the Bay Area.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Yeah, we've definitely been on a cooling trend. I think
today is the coldest, the coolest of this little cycle
we're going through. It is.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
I just looked up the weather forecast and it will
be warmer by one degree tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Okay, see there we go. Very nice.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Hey, we'll take it.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
I didn't notice, though, because I live near the ballpark,
so many people heading to yesterday's games that were just
wearing like long sleeve T shirts.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
I know.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Okay, so not so much last night, but the night before. Yeah,
I was just blown away by how many women I
saw in short sleeve shirts. And I'm like, girls, I
get a good heat, hot flash. I understand that, but
you still have to be prepared for when you're not
having that hot flash. There were no they didn't have layers.
I'm like, you have to be freezing.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
I kind of wanted to stand on the corner of
the street and tell everybody turn around and go get
your jacket, series, get a coat, We're gonna freeze.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
The Giants have a game today and uh Court and
I I saw him this morning.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I'm like, you're dressed for the game. Awesome?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Do you have a jacket? Even though it's a day
game today. I'm so ptsd from the past few New nights,
how old it's been.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
And I all said, I'm going to grab my jacket
before I come.
Speaker 2 (01:27):

the end, because I really felt like your mother for
a minute. We're at eight seven seven nine eight one

Speaker 2 (02:11):

Take their nose.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, I'm gonna say ninety nine point.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Now you driving next to me, Carolyn, did I say
too much? H yes, you did for every Carolyn on
this call.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Uh, you look into other people's cars, you see stuff,
oftentimes you don't want to see it.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
How do people think that others can't see your little
privacy box?
Speaker 3 (03:18):
It's not though the windows are clear. She invest in
some tinted windows.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
That was a funny, guest, just feel invisible. I hate
to ask this because I think I know the answer.
But is that the correct answer. It is not the
correct answer.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
Oh okay, I had a feeling it wasn't.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Well. It was nice to talk to you. Thank you
for listening both.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Also, thank you, I listened every morning.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Oh you you're the best.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Okay, Well, enjoy your day. We'll talk to you again
soon hopefully.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
Yes, yes, bye bye.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Now all right, Manuel, good morning. Where are you listening
to us?
Speaker 4 (03:50):
I'm in San Antonio, Texas listening to it on the
iHeart app.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
That's awesome, Manuel, what do you think the answer is?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Put the bird flip the burl.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
I even't had that done to me in quite some time.
I have had some flashed headlights though, and.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
I'm like I do honking of the horn.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
I really want to know if you partake in the
flipping of the said bird.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Are you witnessing the bird having been done to you?
Speaker 1 (04:18):
No, common guys, time that actually could go either way.
I really don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
I might be guilty of both, great guest, but not
the correct one. Do you want to hear what the
actual answer is? Wopping? Sixty seven percent of us say
we see drivers run a red light at least once
a month.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Sixty seven.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
I've witnessed it twice this week.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Yeah, people are being honest. I'm sure that would be
a lot big number.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
That's so true. By the way, how did you find
us on on the iHeart app?
Speaker 4 (04:48):
And never gave up the station? Been here for seventeen
years and once I got the app listen?
Speaker 6 (04:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Does it feel like home when you're talking to us?
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Oh, it's so great to talk to you guys and
listen to you guys and listen to you guys talk
on the radio. It just brings me right back home.
Thanks for doing it. You guys are awesome.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Oh, Manuel, I will just call us anytime. It was
great to talk to you.
Speaker 4 (05:09):

Speaker 2 (05:12):

We love hearing from you, whether you reach out via
our iHeartRadio app, or you call us, or we've had
people send us emails even which is kind of fun.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah. These can be questions specific to the Morning Breeze show,
you know, you and you and I Carolyn, Yes, or
they can just be generally about life.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
And I think that's what we have today. Lucy and
San Francisco, good morning.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
What is your question?
Speaker 5 (05:57):
What here your favorite secret? Little heigh be behold in
San Francisco, like to go out for like a lunch
or something like.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Oh, Lucy, that is such a good question, great question.
What's yours court? Do you know?
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Offhand?
Speaker 3 (06:12):
I don't like I'm still kind of searching. I'm newer
to the Bay Area, so I'm still trying to find
my place. I mean, we're big fans of the Brick House,
which is of stone throw from the Brief Studios on Brannon.
Enjoy that place. But I'm still looking, you know, I'm
always on the hunt for a good little place.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
So a place that I used to go to, I'm
going to say hide, Lucy, was Mister Bangs for Cocktails
and it's over in the Financial District.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
It's super old school.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
There's always a bunch of men in there playing Liar's dice.
And I love that place. Right at the corner of
Columbus in Washington, I know that area. Yeah, yeah, how
about you, Lucy, where's your go to place in the city.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
A million years when I used to work in the
corner Post and Kearney, I had this little home, a
place on O'Farrell Street, and it was this Japanese couple.
They made the best avocado sandwiches before avocado sandwiches were
(07:13):
like the things. I'm sure it's not there anymore, but
oh my god, it was on O'Farrell Street, little teeny
tiny plates. And you know when they're good is when
they have a line around the corner all the time. Yeah,
that's when you know you got to try this place.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Oh so good.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
That's such a great recommendation. We may send Court over
there because I'm not going. We may send Court walk.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
There because I do. I walk in that area all
the time.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
If it's there, you could pick me up something and
bring it back.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Okay, great, I'll seek it out.
Speaker 6 (07:48):
I see.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
I've listened to you all guys all the time every morning.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
You're so thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (07:54):

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Brideside is sponsored by Shreven Company, Luxury time Pieces, find Designers,
and Flawless Diamonds. And today our brighter side comes from you, Carolyn.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Yes, So I was saying a minute ago that something
is happening on Saturday that is a dream come true
for someone in my family. So I've been doing public
address announcing for quite some time now, and I've obviously
been on the radio for a long time. But the
entire time court that I've been doing both of these jobs,
my mom. She's heard me on the radio a bunch
(09:12):
of times right driving in the car, and sure she
gets that. But she's older now, she's living in assisted living.
She has moderate dementia. And there was a time several
years ago where we were going to try to get
her to CAL when I was announcing the gymnastics team
at CAL and we thought she can come watch. That
just never happened. Then we thought we could get her
to Cal football. That's just it's too big, right. So
(09:34):
now I'm doing the Giants minor league team in Sacramento
with the River Cats. Thought maybe we can get her
to the river Cats. It never happened. And on top
of that, unfortunately, her condition has continued to progress. So
fast forward to now I'm at the San Francisco Giants,
is their public address announcer. And I find out the
other day that the Giants have been working with my
(09:56):
mom's assisted living community. And on Saturday, there are four
chaperones from the Carlton and Pleasant Hill that are going
to bring seven residents, one of them being my mom
to Saturday's Giants game. And my mom, for the first
time in my life, is gonna hear me not just
announce like for a team, right, but she's gonna hear
(10:19):
me announce a job that was my dream job come true,
which is now her dream come true.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Isn't that cool? That's awesome, just like the fact that
that all came together. I just I want people to
know that. You know, when you watch the Giants on
the field, the team is incredible. What a lot of
people don't know is that the Giants do a lot
for people in the community and in the Bay Area,
different organizations here, and they make dreams come true for
(10:48):
so many people. And I just happen to be so
fortunate that this time it's for my family. Yeah, I
think it's awesome.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
That is so great. Your mom has to be so
excited for Saturday. She's so excited. She's like not sleeping
at night because she's excited. Immediate and so I you know,
we told her this was going to happen, and she's like,
you have to take me shopping. I can't wear these
pants that I wear every day and my mom special outfit. Yeah,
I'm like, it's baseball. You could wear shorts if you
wanted to, it's fine. She's like, no, I have to
lose ten pounds and I have to get new pants.
(11:16):
So now she's obsessed with that. But yeah, she is
so excited. So just thank you to the giants who
have just made this happen for my family. So if
you happen to go to a Saturday's game, you're going
to know that you're in good company.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Oh my gosh, it's so great, so great. That is
so so Anyway, we're at eight seven, seven, nine, eight,
one oh ninety one. If you have a brighter side
for us, we would love to hear from you. Like
Court said, you can send us a talkback, you can
call us. You can even send us an email with
your brighter side and we'll share it on the air
here at the breeze.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
And on the way. This morning, seven twenty five, Carolyn,
I've told you about my seventeen year old Sloan's nail salon.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Her operation.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Yes, well, I'm here to tell you that Sloan salon?
Does that sound right? Just it rolls off the tongue
but sounds wrong? Is now off a new service?
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Are you serious? I love this and my other daughter
is involved. Oh my gosh, I will tell you what
it is coming up seven twenty five here on the
morning breath. So Carolyn, quick recap here. My daughter Sloan
has set up a nail salon in our basement. Yeah,
may or may not be breaking some sort of code.
(12:24):
There may be some exchanging of moneies. Oh my gosh,
but she and she is fifteen, seventeen, seventeen years old,
seventeen years old.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
She's getting pretty excited because it's prom season and a
lot of girls want the French tips right now, and
so she's been practicing and rehearsing. In fact, my wife
was a guinea pig the other day for two hours.
She had to sit there and have her nails done
multiple times, so she perfected the French tip.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Oh my gosh, but I love this kid.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
That's not the headliner, he that's not the news is
there's a new service coming soon to the salon by
way of my older daughter Quinn, who's nineteen years old. Yeah,
who is into cupping? Are you familiar with cupping? Oh?
Speaker 2 (13:07):
I think I do that at the chiropractor when they
stick those cups on your back and then there's a
machine involved.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
There can be a machine. Typically it's just a handheld pump.
So there's a couple of different ways the cupping. Like
there's like they will either warm up the cup and
put it on your skin and just the heat itself
causes suction to take place.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
What's it supposed to do?
Speaker 3 (13:27):
It does all sorts of things improve circulation, boosts the
immune system, can help with migraines, pain management, detoxification, inflammation. Wow,
all sorts of great benefits. Okay, So my daughter Quinn
went onto Amazon and purchase purchased a set of cupping,
cups and all the things that come with it.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
There is an operation happening at your house. And by
the way, Quinn is at University of Oregon. H So
is she training Sloan to do the cupping or is
the cupping only happening when Quinn in town?
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Only when only when Quinn is in town?
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Queen, It's like chair in the salon is.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Dark, she's renting a place. It's smart until she comes home. Okay,
But she was home for the Easter weekend this past weekend,
and I became the guinea pig. In fact, but both
my wife and I became the guinea pigs for the cupping,
and so we all and both daughters were there assisting
each other.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
This is so funny.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
You literally have a business. Is this in your basement?
I don't know if I've ever asked you. Guess you
have a basement. So okay, I don't even know what
I just there are so many things here. They they
did the procedure on me. It took maybe twenty minutes,
and then I immediately hopped on my phone and went
to Google and said, can you get seriously.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Hurt from cupping? Because they have zero experience in this.
I have no idea like if they were gonna, you know,
harm me or not.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
I just picture somebody from the city or the county
listening right now and they're like, how do we find
Court Johnson's address? There are going to be so many
fines issued.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Good luck.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
But that is is a funny story. And also I
feel like that is not the end, that there will
be more. There is a continuation coming, the next evolution
of Sloan slums. On the way, has she come up
with the name? By the way, I'm okay, that's also coming.
We're at eight seven seven, nine, one oh nine eighty one.
Send us a message anytime with our iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
And on the way this morning eight twenty your chance
to win tickets to see Heart at the Chase Center
when they come August tenth. So be here eight twenty
your chance to win your next chance here on the
morning Breathe.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Cord.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
And good morning to Robert in Conquered. Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 6 (15:34):
Yesterday? I went to the Jack in a Box on
Clinton Wood. I was in the store, I mean, waiting
for my tacos, and they were playing the Breeze and
I told them, I go, this is great, and so
you're happy for you guys.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
I love that Jack in the Box.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
You know.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
I love their tacos. They are holy cats. That's when
I go to Tacos.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
In the Breeze. Nothing better than that.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Maybe they heard me talking about how much I love
their Jack in the Box tacos and they're like, we
have to play this radio station.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
I love it.
Speaker 6 (15:58):
It's my favorite one.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
So good, Robert, Well, this is great.
Speaker 6 (16:03):
I just thought it was great. Listened to this all
day long.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
You know, I love Robert that you're as excited about
the breeze on Clayton Road and conquered playing in the
Jack in the Boxes we are.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
We appreciate that. Thank you, day you too. All right, bye.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
The Bay's number one for relaxing favorites while you work.
It's ninety eight point one The Breeze with Bonnie Tyler.
You've got The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court at
eight o six.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
I don't know if you have been noticing this lately, Court,
but have you noticed how bright people's headlights are? Like
I'm constantly thinking people have.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
The brights on.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Well, I actually heard the other day that they aren't
the brightes, that there is a reason they're now making
all cars and trucks the headlights on them led lights.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Right, everybody is shifting to the LED.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Right and the LEDs appear brighter.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
So if you are like we are, that you feel
like people's car car headlights are a lot brighter, or
somebody's flashing their headlights at me, it could very well
just be that they've got these LED lights as headlights.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Yeah. The flashing. When somebody flashes their lights at me,
it means one of two things. Either they're warning me
there's a police officer ahead. Oh, or they think I
have my brights on and they're like, turn off your
brights and I'm like, I don't have my brights on.
You want to see my brights, that's exactly. And then
I turn on my brights and they're like sorry.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
I wonder how many people do that, because I've done
that exact thing where I'm like, oh, al show your brights.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Yeah, yeah, I'm totally that person.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
See, No, I think have I driven past you?
Speaker 4 (17:37):
No?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
I think that when people flash their brights at me,
they're mad at me for something I never think that
they're warning me about a police officer.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
I didn't know. Is that a thing?
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, it is, especially on highways when
you get into areas where they'll people will flash their lights.
I think what you're supposed to do, because I'm not
sure here in California if it's against the law to
do that, because you're not supposed to flash your brights
right for any reason. That sounds like some country road. Yeah,
driving right there what a lot of truck drivers do.
(18:04):
And trust me, I've talked to them about this because
I'm fascinated by this. They don't flash their rights. They
actually just turn their lights off now that I've seen.
But that also says hazards. It creates a flash, but
it's not flashing, if that makes any sense. It's like
another language.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
I know.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
I more confused now than I was when I started
talking about this.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
So come it all comes down to LEDs. As you
were saying, Carolyn.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
That's the bottom line.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
If you're noticing that car headlights are brighter than they
used to be, you can.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Blame those LEDs.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
It's the LEDs.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
We're at eight seven seven nine, eight one nine eight
