A recent poll found that seven percent of Americans say
they enjoy this type of weather.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
All right, eight seven, seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one. Let's go first to Amy in Freema, Good morning.
What is your guess?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Maybe the snow snow?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
I feel like that would be higher than seven percent,
because there are people that choose to live in Chicago,
in Minnesota and these states where at snowy.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
I grew up. I grew up in a snowy state,
and I'll be honest with you, you living in California,
at least this part of California, I miss snow in
the winter.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Until you have to shovel your driveway.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah, I know, but it's so great it is snow
on Christmas New Years. Yeah, it's pretty great.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
We like your guess, but it's not the correct one.
All right, keep trying, Amy, Thank you too.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
All right, Okay, Dave and Scott's Valley, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
What's your gas? Oh, fog, especially in the Bay Area.
You have to love the fog to live here. I
love fog, you do. I'm a big fan of fog.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Do you like fog, Dave.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yeah, valley right on the where I get a lot
of the Santa Cruz coming.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Oh, it's a great answer. It's not the one we're
looking for, Dave. This this might this might play into
it a little bit because the answer here. Seven percent
of American say they enjoy humid weather. Really, they like
things humid.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Those are the people that have really great ac that
can hide in their houses all day long and don't
have to deal with humidity.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I guess, so, I don't know. I met a guy recently.
His name is Khalid. He grew up in Alabama, and
he was just telling me that he misses the humidity
of Alabama and wishes He's like I haven't been able
to get used to this Bay Area weather where it's
not humid very often. He's probably always cold here. Maybe
that's maybe that's.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
What a trip. I've never heard anybody say I miss
the humidity. I know that is a trip, right on, Dave.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Okay, we'll have a good day. Thank you for calling.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Thank you you guys have a great I appreciate.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
All that you do.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Oh that's so nice. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
I appreciate that. H Have you ever lived anywhere, Carolyn,
where it's humid in the Midwest? Okay, Yeah, it's where
you it's where you're from.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah, and it the snow to what to Amy's point
in the beginning, Yeah, kind of liked it, but kind
of didn't right. You know, I was young, so I
didn't have I wasn't the ones shoveling the driveway and
showing all the things. Yeah, but the humidity is can
be brutal.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Sor you have to take afternoon and an evening shower.
You're like showering constantly. Yeah, have you lived in I have,
like parts of when I've lived in Europe, there are
a couple of areas that were super humid. So sorry, cool,
but but humidity and cold is like like bone piercing cold. Yeah,
(03:31):
when it gets cold with humidity like you just it.
I don't even know how to describe it.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
But yeah, no, I I don't remember cold cold humid community. Yes,
I don't remember that at all. I remember hot humidity,
and which is even worse. The fact that seven percent
of people are like I miss that and I want
to live in that is crazy to me. But the
Morning Breeze Brain Teas we play every weekday morning here
at six twenty on the Breeze and coming.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Up this morning seven forty once again another chance for
you to score free to gets to see Heart at
the Chase Center.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
That's right, they're going to be their August tenth. We
would love to send you to that show. Every person
that has won this week has been so excited, understandably
so so your next chance to win coming up seven
forty this morning on the Breeze and Birthrees.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and Michael
Jackson at six p forty on this Thursday morning. When
I was in eighth grade, Carolyn, I had a great
teacher by the name of mister Willis. He taught physical
science and one of my favorite things to do is
go to his class because every day, no matter what,
I learned something that's cool. And that is what we
try to do every morning at this time with the
(04:39):
more you know, are we doing it some random fact
that may or may not make you smarter.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
I thought this one was so interesting. So you know,
when you go shopping for a car, there's always like
that one feature that you want on the car. For
some people it's a backup camera. For other people, it's
like something else. So they did this serve. Hey, I
couldn't think of anything else I wouldn't want.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
They did this survey.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
They asked one hundred thousand people, what are you looking
for when it comes to features in cars? One of
the most highly sought after features was I'm gonna give
you one guess.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
One okay that I wouldn't think of.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yeah, it's not an obvious but when you hear it,
it's gonna make total sense.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Uh, windshield are wipers for you? Remember how those I
think it was sobs or vovos used to have the
little windshield wipers for the front headlights.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Oh yeah, that's hilarious. And the fact that you just
went to SOB. I haven't heard the brand SOB on
a car is so long I don't exist anymore. That
was just a highly sought after car. It sure was great,
guess not the right answer. One of the most highly
sought after features in cars these days when they when
people go car shopping is a cup holder that actually
(05:51):
fits their cup because think about it, everybody now is
doing like the yetties, the bigger water bottles, yes, and
cars that made however many years ago or even like
they don't take that into account. So people, this is
such a first world problem. By the way, like we
realize this. I'm just reading this story, But that's what
(06:13):
people are looking for, are cup holders that fit their
giant water bottles.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
I can't think of any time where I've been car
shopping where the cup holders mattered to me in any way.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
I will say this, I haven't thought about it in
the moment, but afterwards, when you get in the car
and you've got your water bottle and you've purchased the car,
and you're like, oh, man, right, you know where I
keep my water bottle?
Speaker 2 (06:38):
That doesn't fit in my cup holder?
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Down in the side on the left by the door,
and it's tilted sideways.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Sometimes it rolls in the back seat. Yeah, that's it,
So that works.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
We have ours have like it adjusts to the size
of your cup. Yeah, but if you have a big
enough one. You know what I'm saying, it's your accept it.
I'll give that shot. I'll find the biggest cup in
the house.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
I know. I just thought that was so interesting. So
there you go.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
That is the most sought after feature these days, is
a cup holder in a car that fits your water
bottle or your big old cup.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Yeah, we do the more, you know, every weekday morning

Speaker 3 (08:05):
I heard this story yesterday and I had to share it.
There's a family in Alameda who adopted a dog named
Rufus from the San Francisco SBCA years ago. But he
was super young and he passed away unexpectedly. He had
a gallbladder issue. And what a great name though, by
the way, Rufus, I know, so you know, you can
imagine this poor family in Alameda. They're devastated. But on
(08:29):
the night that Rufus passed away, this family's daughter happened
to see a photo of a dog on the website
for Muttville. This Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, and
the daughter goes this dog. It looks exactly like Rufus.
This is a trip, Mom and dad look at this.
The whole family could not get over the similarities. Yeah,
(08:50):
this dog's name is Ziggy that they saw on the website.
So the family calls up Muttville and they say, we're
interested in looking at Ziggy. We just lost our dog.
He was way too young, and so Muttville has them
come in. They end up adopting Ziggy, hoping he could
like fill this void that was left behind when Rufus died. Sure,
so the family still is like, I can't get over
(09:11):
the similarities. So they do a dog like a DNA test.
Ziggy is Rufus's dad. Wow, because remember Rufus died way
too young. Ye, Ziggy is now at the Muttville Senior
Dog Rescue. He's got a white face, but they do
look a lot alike. They adopted there. Like it makes
(09:33):
me I'm like tearing up telling this story because this
story is so incredible.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
They got Rufus's dad.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Of all the dogs in all the Bay Area, they
end up with Rufus's dad, I know, so great.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Founder of Muttville. Her name is Sherry Franklin. She's awesome.
We've worked with her before here on the Breeze. She said,
this is her quote. It's rare that any of us
get a second opportunity to be with our soulmate dogs
after they pass away.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
What a gift and a blessing that is. Isn't that
the coolest story?
Speaker 1 (10:01):
That's really great.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
I mean, I'm so sad they lost Rufus, don't get
me wrong, because that's like devastating, But the fact that
it worked out this way, like ah, I thought that
was a great break.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Rufus looking out for them across that rainbow bridge. It
is just making sure that the family's taken care of
with his dad, it is.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Yeah, that's awesome.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
So anyway, if you've got a brighter side for us
eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one
ers Court mentioned, you can send us a brighter side.
We've had people do it with our talkback. You got
thirty seconds, sum it up. Tell us what that brighter
side is. We get that message right away here in
the studio.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
And also remember all those ways to contact us. The
phone number eight seven seven nine eight one oh nine
eight one or the talkback feature, because coming up at
seven twenty five this morning, another chance for you to
ask us anything.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Be thinking about what that question might be that you
want us to answer. It could be about stuff that's
just like happening in your life. You want a third
and fourth opinion, second and third opinion, first and second opinion.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Let's see what I'm doing there, less perk, two perks
in the in the wee, we get aspect.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
She's third. She's taking a nap right now, but we'll
wake her up and she can help out.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
You can also email us, like Court said, call us
whatever the case may be, ask us anything.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
We're doing it seven twenty five here on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Seven twenty eight with the Righteous Brothers. Here on ninety
eight point one the Breeze. It's the morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Court, and it's that time of the morning
where you get to call in and ask us anything
anything on your mind, whether it's breeze or non breeze related.
Eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one is
how you reach us. You can also send us your
questions on our free iHeartRadio app using the talkback feature.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Michael in San Francisco, Good morning, ask us anything.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Hi, Carolyn, I was calling specifically for you. I am
a part time community health outreach worker in Alameda County,
but it is becoming something that is going to require
an official state certification, and one of the things that
is required is an entire semester of outreach work, either
(11:58):
volunteer or paid. But most of the time it's fall
and here and I always hear you talking about your
sweet mom. Oh yeah, Paul, And I heard you one
time talking about how you know, if you really wanted,
you know, you can go and talk with the people
that live there. And I was just wondering, would you
just say, go to their website and a fly to
(12:21):
be someone to volunteer time there. You know what a
great idea.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
You could reach out to any senior living community in
the Bay Area, right, anyone, just whatever is closest to
where you live to make it you know, convenient for
you as well, but just right to reach out and
just say, hey, I am doing this, I need course
credit for this, I want to do this because it's
something that's close to my heart. And just say, do
(12:48):
you have any interest in having somebody come in every
day and or once a week or whatever and just
talk with the residents. I think that's a great place
to start.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Okay, I am going to do that. That was my
ask you any thing, Like you know, I think right
now more than ever, you know, people, we really need
some kindness right now. Yeah, and some remembering that there's
people out there who need other people, you know, and
it's not just senior care facilities, memory care facilities, but
volunteering in general.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
I mean that's just something that is just so we
needed right now.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
I'll bet you you could probably call any any place
in the Bay Area that is serving a portion of
our community, whether it be senior may there be minorities
who may pets, animals as all that stuff. You call
them and say, hey, I want to volunteer. I would
guarantee you they're like, yes, we need your totally.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
And I love this, Michael. I love that you called
about this because I think this is a good reminder
for all of us that there are organizations here in
the Bay Area, like Court said, beyond senior care, they
could use help.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
So I love that this has.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Turned into a Hey, just a reminder for everybody if
you're looking to make a difference, if you have some
extra time on your hands, call whatever organization it is
that you're passionate about, and even just going in once
a week would make a huge difference.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
No.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
Absolutely. One of my favorite movies is House Punny with
Anna Faris, and there's this part where she says kindness
is just love with its work boots on, and I
was like, oh my god, I love.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
I love that.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Wonderful speaking to you both, Stay awesome, have a great day.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Thanks Michael. We appreciate you calling in this morning. And Carolyn,
that's how you do it with ask us anything, yep,
could literally be anything. We do it every weekday morning
here at seven twenty five and coming up in just
a few minutes seven forty this morning, we've got another
chance for you to go see her. They're coming to
the Chase Center August tenth, and we want to send

Speaker 2 (14:57):
It, safe to say, Court's very excited for you.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
I'm so excited. I'm trying to figure out who's more
excited me or you? Court? You might be excited, but
we're excited for you. Who are you and where are
you calling from?
Speaker 4 (15:12):
I'm Emily and then calling from Emily.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
All right, Emily, how do you feel about going to
see Heart?
Speaker 4 (15:19):

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Thank you, You are welcome. We'll have another chance tomorrow morning,
same time, seven forty. Here on the Breeze.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Have a great day. It's Michael Bolton with a song
you will hear only on the Breeze, The Morning Breeze.
It's Carolyn and Court at eight ten.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
I want to take a moment here to recognize greatness.
There is a skill that Carolyn has that I have
noticed since the moment we met, really and I just
want to point it out. And it's the art of
the wink. I don't know if you knew this about yourself,
but you are a superior winker.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
That's the skill. Yeah, I feel so let down that
something great.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
No, no, no, no, this is something you should hold that
head up high.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
A winker.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
You're a winker. You're not like an overwink. There's people
who are overwinkers. But you have a you wink if
you're left eye. It's a very and it's a very
subtle wink. And you'll mix it in here and there
when when appropriate, and it's just a natural wink. I
bring this up because I am not a natural winker.
When I wink, it takes like the full I have
(16:39):
to think about it in order to wink, and so
it's very awkward. I have to go it's like you
can it looks like Popeye. So that's me winking because
I have to think about it. And even I can,
I can do this side that side, but I have
to cord.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
He bobs his head forward and makes a weird movement
with his mouth to wink.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
I move my my eye towards you so that you
make that make sure you see it. And then it's very.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
Well that I don't think you should probably I don't
think you should wink.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
You, on the other hand, have just this.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
I just did it.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
So there's been there's been times where like we'll be
in mid conversation and like you, maybe you're rasin somebody
you'll you'll give you give me the knowing wink.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Yeah, that is such a great skill.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
It is not everybody can do it, Carolyn.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
I feel like I might be overwinking though. The fact
that you even noticed it is now I'm in my
head about it.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
There's been a few people in my life that have
been really good at that natural wink, and you are.
I would I would put you in the top three.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Yeah, okay, well we're we're all we're on the subject
of top threes. I'm still trying to be your second
best friend behind Randy. How are we doing in that poll?
Speaker 1 (17:46):
How you're getting there right now?
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Randy my best friend Ben Nah. See that's and then
me and you.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
You're not an okay, but you're never going to replace Randy.
She's no, no, I'm not trying to replace Randy, but
I just want to be second.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
But anyway, all that in my in my current life,
you are the top winker because everybody else has been
people from my childhood.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Coach Michaelson, my football coach. Huh, superior winker. Okay, but
I think you're right up there with you out wink
your coach, Michael. I believe Michaelson.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Yes, Michaelson, day boy, thank you again.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
I feel it's important to recognize greatness and that's what
I want to do today because you winked at me
the other day and I'm just like, they'll be creeped
out by it.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
I was just like, this is such a good skill
because I don't have that skill.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Boy.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Okay, this is all good to know for many reasons.
Everybody right now is thinking of the people in their life.
I know who are superior winkers.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
I wonderful.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Let them know, let them know that they're great at winking.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Okay, okay, And if you have a superior winker in
your life words I've never said out loud before, we'd
love to hear from you eight seven seven nine to
eight one, or someone in your life, your life that
has a really great skill that you're pretty sure they
have no idea, yeah, that they're really good at these
subtle things.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Yes, call us.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
You can send us a message with our iHeartRadio app
that talk back mic as well, and.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Stick around because coming up at eight fifty this morning,
we're going commercial free. Great way for you to stick
off your workday.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
I'm just sitting here, staring with my eyes wide opening.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
Not to worry.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
I feel like now I wink too much.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Yes, ninety eight minutes of commercial free relaxing favorites will
do that.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
At eight fifty, I did it on the breeze
