Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, Morning Breeze on Demand. The beg's it
is six twenty. Good morning, It is the Morning Breeze
with Carolyn and Corn. And because it's six twenty, that
means it is time for the Morning Breeze. Brain Tease.
This is kind of where you find out who's had
their coffee this morning. Yeah, we won't see how sharp
you are. We're at eight seven seven nine eight one

(00:23):
oh nine eight one. Morning Breeze Brain Tease sponsored by
Mike Council Plumbing. You're in clean hands with Mike Council Plumbing.
You can see them online at mc plumbing dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Nearly ninety percent of dogs do this every day.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
All right, We're at eight seven, seven nine, eight one
oh nine eight one. Pam in San Refel, Good morning.
You've got to guess what is it?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Turn the circle before they lay down?

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Oh, turn in a circle before they lay down.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Oh, Perk turns in a circle before I give her
dinner breakfast?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Oh does she?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Do Charlie and Leo turnin circles? Both Charlie and the
O turnin circles before they lay down. That's that's how
you know they found their spot.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
They do till we go over.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
They'll sniff it out and then you get the circle
turn boom.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, ninety percent. That would be crazy if ninety percent
of dogs did that.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
It's got to be instinctual because you see it so much. Yeah. Yeah,
it's a good guess, pan, great guess, thank you, and
it may technically be correct, so I'm not going to
say it's wrong. Okay, but it's not today's answer.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Oh but we loved playing along with you and call
any time.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Have a good day, all right, thank you you too,
Love Karen in San Francisco. What do you think? The
answer is cratch scratch?

Speaker 1 (01:35):
You always see them scratching. Oh yeah, I've got a
real scratcher in a perk.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
You do, yes, And I've got a scratcher in Leo
more than Charlie. Sometimes it's cute, but they shouldn't be
doing it. Not the correct answer, correct answer. Nearly ninety
percent of dogs watch TV every day.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
They do.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Yeah, funny.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
A lot of people put on the TV when they leave.
I guess I do give them something to do. I
used to get up with the radio.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
That is so cute. It was almost like I.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Thought he was lonely. Style was like, let me turn
on the company.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
I think that's why we do it.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
And I don't think most dogs could carry.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yeah, they probably don't care, but it makes us feel
better and that's what matters. That is so funny. Well, Karen,
nice chatting with you. Have a good day, you too.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Oh, you're welcome.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
You know.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
It's funny. I specifically not only put the TV on
for Perk when I leave, but I put if I'm gone,
and usually at a Giants game, so I put the
Giants game on, right, Not that Perk can hear me
announcing through the TV, but.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Every now and then your voice floats through on those broadcasts,
I know.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
So I'm like, maybe she hears me and knows it's
okay moms at a Giants game, she'll be home.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
So nice of you.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
It's so stupid.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
See, I'm the opposite because I don't. We don't leave
our TV on for Charlie and Leo because Charlie specifically
actively watch TV and when other dogs or horses show
up on the TV, he goes nuts. Yeah, so like
anytime there's a dog food commercial on, huh. He is
not a fan because there is a stranger in the
house suddenly.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Oh it's pretty what do you do well? At least
when you guys leave the house. There are two of them.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, yeah, they're fine.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, they have each other.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Not worry about them being lonely.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Oh that is so funny though. That's pretty cute. All right?
Eight seven seven nine eight one nine eight one. Hang
on to that number, use it throughout the morning. That
is how you reach us here. You can also send
us a message with our iHeartRadio app that talk back
Mike a great way to reach out as well.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
And a reminder coming up tomorrow shortly after seven o'clock,
we will be naming a new Morning Breeze Person of
the Week. I know I'm looking forward to this. There
is still time for you to get a nomination. And
if you've been kind of putting it off this week
saying I'll get to it, I'll get to it, now's
your chance to go to ninety eight one the Breeze
dot Com. Tell us about that person in your life
that's always going above and beyond and doing good things

(03:58):
for other people. We want to hear about them again.
Get the nomination in at ninety eight one The Breeze
dot com. Louise, It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Court and Tracy Chapman at six forty two. And because
it is six forty two, it's time for the more you.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Know where everybody learns. Yeah, I asked you a minute ago.
If you talk out loud to yourself.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Not not regularly, but I will be known to occasionally
blurt something out. Things imp through in my brain and
I'll just kind of say something in response out loud.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
So if you're let's say home, no one's around, you're
unloading the dishwasher. Yeah, for example, you're talking to yourself sometimes.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah, because if I'm loading the dishwasher that goes like this,
I'll be like, who loaded the dishwasher this way?

Speaker 1 (04:50):
You say that out loud for real? Oh yeah, Oh
that's funny. Okay, all right, Well, good news for you.
It is good for you. They're saying to talk out loud,
talk out loud to yourself. Yes, there is a mental
and physical benefit to talking out loud. Keeping things in
is bad for you. Talking out loud, they say, can
help with problem solving. It could improve your productivity at work. Well,

(05:13):
that's a win win for both of us. Yes, it
can be motivating self talk as well. It's a great
way to let off steam. There is nothing bad about
talking out loud to yourself, so feel better about it.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
That kind of a little bit of like a role play,
because what I find myself doing that's been helpful for
me is if I'm going to have a conversation that
I am a little anxious about, making me nervous, I'm
not sure how this conversation isn't going to go. Yeah,
I will actually have the conversation with myself out loud.
I will say all the things I need to say
uh huh vocally so that I can kind of hear
myself saying it. I know exactly what you're saying, yeah,

(05:46):
and work through it. And it makes me so much
more confident in calm during the actual conversation.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
That was the key word for me. It gives you
confidence so that when you have it, you've already kind
of walked through that in your brain. I love that.
They also say that people who spend and more time
alone are more likely to talk out loud to themselves.
All right, so I hand this up. I didn't want
to say it. I think out loud to myself in

(06:11):
here in front of you, and sometimes you'll be like,
you'll be thinking of something.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
You'll say something like, what are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Huh? All right, so now you know it is before
you know. We do it every weekday morning here at six.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Forty on the Breeze, and coming up this morning at
seven forty, we've got your chance to win tickets to
California's Great America. Some are still here and a great
chance for you to enjoy it with four tickets to
the park.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Yeah, be here at seven forty for your chance to
win those tickets. We love giving these away. People have
been so excited. The weather is perfect, yes it is,
so seven forty. Your next chance on the Breeze, it's
seven oh eight. It's Kelly Clarkson Morning Breeze with Carolyn
and Cord. Every weekday morning at this time we turn
the show over to you. We want you to call
us and tell us about good stuff that's happening in

(06:56):
your life. We are all about positivity in general here
on the Breeze, but this is a chance for you
to bring us the positivity. We love it, we really do.
It's a great way to start the day. It's called
the Brighter Side, and it's sponsored by Shreven Company, Luxury
time Pieces, Fine Designers, and Flawless Diamonds. And you can
reach us at eight seven seven nine eight one oh
nine eight one.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Joe and Nevado, thanks for listening to us. We appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
I'm listening to you guys on my way home from
work all the time, this time of the morning. I
got tuned in here at ninety eight one when I said,
I get in the car and listen to Carolyn and
Court doing their things.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
What do you do for a living that you're coming
home now?

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Oh? I worked at a biotech company, so it's a
twenty four to seven operation. So I worked that crazy
to called that graveyard shift for some crazy reason. But
I go in at six pm get out at seven
am in the morning.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Wow, how long have you been doing that? Joe?

Speaker 4 (07:46):
What about three years? Now?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Okay, you sound like very awake this morning, which is good, right?

Speaker 4 (07:54):
I yeah, Well, you know, I got to make sure
I get home to the families. I got to get
mentally prepared. So that's why I put you guys on.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Know that we appreciate that. I'm just kind of curious,
like if you come off of work and you're this awake.
I mean, I guess the same would be for us
at night. Yeah, but you've got to see the family
take care of them, and then you just excuse yourself
and say, well see you guys in eight hours, I'm
going to bed. Like how does that work? When you
get home?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Nor? Now, it's not so bad because school is that.
But boy, coming up about another month from now, I'm
gonna either have to get a bus pass for that
little kid of mine, or if not, I'll snooze for
like an hour and then take her to school and
then I'll be out until it's trying to get back
up at two or three pm to get her back
from school by those crazy schedules.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
But the life of a parent right there, never end.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
That is true. But the good part is I don't
go to work every day, you know, I only work
like half the month. I go in for three days
and I'm off for four, then I go back in
for four. Like this week that I'm off for three.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Oh yeah, cause you're working like twelve thirteen hour shifts
exactly right.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Yes, I don't work every day the week, so I
always get released. Maximum is four days consecutive and then
the next week it would be a three days, so it's
kind of like half of the month. You just got
to prep your mind when you during that work week
that you're going to be up for a while.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Sure, yeah, I guess, So I guess. My question would be,
do you like your your schedules?

Speaker 4 (09:07):
It works out that I get to be home on Thursday, Friday,
Saturdays all the time. Yeah, and every other Wednesday is
my rotating one. So it's not a bad thing as
far as being home. I just miss on Sundays. But
you know, if I want to sacrifice that, I'll get
up a little early and be a little bit more
groggy at work, but not too bad otherwise.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
And what's great about that is that you know, when
you've got kids, the Thursday, Friday, Saturday is where a
lot of their activities are happening, whether at school or
sports activities. So you're there for exactly right.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
You hit it right on the head and you get
to do stuff and I don't have to worry about
being somewhere at any given time work wise. I could
just kind of do things for the family and kind
of have fun in that part, kind of balanced the
trade off.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
You know, you're pretty lucky in that regard.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Yes, nice chatting with you this morning. Have a good night.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
That's exactly right. You got it right. Okay, it's opposite
of you guys.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Well, night night, Joe Yep, all.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Right, Caroly, you take care of court. You do the same,
cake and I thank you, b.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
If you've got a brighter side for us eight seven
seven nine eight one oh nine eight one.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
And coming up this morning at seven twenty five, it's
ask Us Anything. It's your chance to call into the
show and literally ask us anything.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Yeah, it's coming up seven twenty five here on the Breeze.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Seven twenty six with the Eagles, here on ninety eight
point one the Breeze. You've got the morning Breeze with
Carolyn and Cord. And it's that time of the morning
where you ask and we answer and maybe just maybe
we all learn something.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
It's called ask us Anything. You can call us eight
seven seven nine eight one oh nine eight one, or
you can submit your questions on our free iHeartRadio app
using the talkback features.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Yeah, and no topic is off limits. This is like
a total open mic. Whatever is on your mind. We
are here to answer. We've got Steve in Conquered Holding.
Hi Steve, good morning. Ask us anything. Have you guys
ever been out of the country and if.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
So, where? Good question, great question.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Court. You want to go first?

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Yeah, I've been. I've been out of the country a
few times. Canada a couple of times, Mexico a bunch
of times, and I've been to Europe a few times.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Oh wow, good for you.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Yeah, from Europe into Canada all the way across to
bamp and that was the most beautiful area I've ever seen.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
A great fishing.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yeah, bamf is that you see that? That iconic? I
think it's it's just I don't know. It's like a
lake in a mountain range.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
Yeah, beautiful spot.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Ye what I'm talking about, Carolyn? Look it up and
you'll you'll see this picture and you'll be like, wow,
I want.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
To go there.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
What's it called bampvamp b a n FF. Oh wow,
that is beautiful. Okay. And flights are two hundred and
forty one dollars from San Francisco, only two hours and
forty three minutes.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Well, you should go this weekend.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
What about you, Carolyn, I've been to Italy and that's it.
And I'm not that's not a throwaway like, but you
guys sound like you've done some world traveling.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
I forgot about this. It's an easy way to travel
and go to a bunch of different countries if you
can is to do one of those Caribbean cruises. Yeah,
because you take those, you can go to Jamaica, the Bahamas, bad,
I would like. I think I went to Honduras on
one of my trips once. It was pretty great.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Steve. I'm glad you called because you are reminding me
I need to get out more and do more traveling.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Here we go. Well, I know you're busy, busy lady
with the giants and everything else.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Huh yeah, no, definitely busy. It's definitely a busy time
of year. But maybe in the off season I can
the gop that. Thank you guys, well, Steve, great call.
I appreciate that. Okay, you guys.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
I love you guys.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Oh, you to thank you, And that is how ask
us anything works if there's anything on your mind. And
I actually love going down this road because you actually
you've been to Mexico. You didn't say Mexico, but you've
been to Mexico.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Yeah, but when when somebody calls and says if you
ever traveled out of the country, you don't think of
thinking No, I mean technically yes, but I'm thinking on
a bigger scale when you guys are talking about like
Canada and all these amazing places you've been, sure Europe. Yeah,
so it'llly is it for me? Pretty much? Pete back
in the nineties. All right, we're at eight seven seven nine,

(13:05):
eight one oh ninety eight one. That's how you reach us.
Ask us anything again, total open mic. It is your floor.
Whatever is on your mind, whatever questions you have, we
are here and happy to answer them. We do it
every weekday morning at this time.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
And we are just minutes away from your next chance
to win tickets to California's Great America. We've got a
family four pack of tickets, and I guess it doesn't
have to be a family four pack. It could be
a friend four pack.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
It could be a friend four pack, it could be
a coworker coworker four pack pack. You and i've been
to California's Great America before. What about a stranger four pack?

Speaker 4 (13:38):
No?

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Okay, all right, let's stick with the family four pack. Yeah,
We're going to do that at seven forty on the Breeze.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Exciting times here on the morning Breeze as we give
away tickets to California's Great America. And congratulations to you.
You are Color ten. This is Court.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Who's this? We're supposed to say, who's this?

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Joe? It is?

Speaker 3 (14:01):
How are you well?

Speaker 1 (14:02):
We're good?

Speaker 3 (14:02):
You won perfect, perfect, It works out perfect. My grandkids
are coming from Dallas and they're gonna we're going to
the Arizona Niners game and then the day before we
can go to Great America.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Oh my gosh, you're gonna park in the same parking
lot for all of this. There you go, one parking lot,
two events.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
What a weekend, John, Yes, that would be fun. Thank
you so much.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Got four tickets for you for California's Great America. Summer
is almost gone, but the fund's not done. At California's
Great America, Northern California's premiere amusement park, non stop excitement, John,

and select days after that. We're happy to be able
to pick up the tab for you and the grandkids.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Thank you so much, Carolyn.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
You got it. You got it. Another chance to win
tomorrow at seven forty. Here on the Breeze, they are hurt.
It is these dreams. Eight oh eight, Good morning. It
is the morning Breeze with Carolyn and cor Not.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Heroes wear capes, Carolyn, sometimes they wear ball caps and
take walks through Chinatown. You're talking about court Johnson talking
about So yes, yesterday I went out for my afternoon
hot walk through Chinatown. Sure, And as if you're familiar
with there's a bunch of one way streets through China, Yeah,
including Grant Street, which is I think people think of
that as the epitome of Chinatown. And so I'm they're

(15:24):
walking come to a stop. I think it was on
Washington and Grant, and I see this BMW going through
the intersection with its turn light on to go left
onto Grant. The wrong way. Oh, on the one way street,
the one way street. And I start realizing this guy
has no clue. He he was either a tourist or

(15:44):
it's never been in that area before. We've all been there.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
That's tough.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Yeah, So I'm thinking what do I do? Because there's
a crowd of people there. This guy is just looking
for an opportunity to zip over.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
And once he gets going down that street, you can't
do a reverse and knock out to you almost have
to keep going exactly.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yes, So what do I do? I start waving my hand, hands,
flailing them at him.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Like you're waving them right now. Oh my gosh, you
really are waving your hands like a crazy person.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
I know, but he didn't see me. So what do
I do? I actually step out into the road.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
In front of him.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
In front of him, I'm like you this way.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
He gave the crossing guard stop. No, it was more
frantic and like a crazy man. Okay, let's try to help.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
But didn't what He's like, oh thanks, and he continued
on his way.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Oh, Court, you did prevent an embarrassing moment. Yeah, and
a dangerous moment.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
But in turn, I think I embarrassed myself because everybody
around me was like, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Anybody that knows you though, which is no one that
was there, but anybody that would have been there on
the off chance that they knew you would have been
like that's court, Oh Court.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
But the French tourists were like, what's going on with that?

Speaker 1 (16:56):
No, you actually did do him a huge favor.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
I feel like I did.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
I hope he has the breeze on in his BMW.
That was Court Johnson. That was waving at you like
a crazy person and helping you out set you on
your way. So that's good, good job, Court, I'm star
for you.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
I appreciate that. It happens every now and then where
you start to see people go down a one way
street and when you're a pedestrian, normally you're like whatever.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
I do the same thing with people when I pull
up next to them. You know how so many cars
now the running lights make you think your headlights are on,
but it's just the dashboard of your car, and like
the running lights, you not your full headlight and then
no tail lights. So very early in the morning I'm
coming to work, I pull up and someone who's in
a dark car I don't have their white lights on.

(17:40):
I'll pull up next to them, beat beep very gently
at four am and be like, hey, turn your lights
all the way on. And they always say, oh, thank you.
First they get mad at me because they think I'm
being aggressive, and then I'm like wait till I tell
them this is on them. Then I'm a hero too.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
I always try flashing my like, if they're coming towards me,
I'll flash my brights at them. Oh, typically they don't
pick up on that anymore. Well, no, I don't do that.
I only do it when I when you're behind them
at a stoplight anyway. All right, but we're both, you're all,
we're all heroes.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
All right, What a day. We're at eight seven seven nine,
eight one oh nine eight one. Stay with us coming
up later on this hour. We are going to be
commercial free here on the Breeze, and ninety

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Eight minutes of non stop, commercial free relaxing favorites happening
at eight point fifty here on the Breeze
