Speaker 2 (00:05):
And it's that time of the week, Carolyn, where we
get to announce our next Morning Breeze Person of the Week.
This is somebody in the Bay Area that's going above
and beyond.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
And man are they ever. This week it's Dana who's
nominating her daughter, Kamana. Dana, tell us all about your
wonderful daughter and why you nominated her.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
She has been so resilient. She has stuck with me
through the times when I was homeless, living in my car,
and this was when she was in high school. I
have two older daughters and then I have a set
of twins that are thirteen. And I was an abusive
relationship and I had nowhere to go and I was

(00:44):
also working.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
So what she decided to do was she told me, say.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
It to the mom. I want to stay with you,
and I'll just stick it out with you. She also
works with children, and she's a medical assistant. And you know,
I could ask for a better daughter. I couldn't ask
for a better companion. And you know, I'm sorry we didn't.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
No, it's okay, is incredible.

Speaker 6 (01:12):
It's just.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
She's the daughter that brings brings all the family together.
She's the daughter that says like, we need to go
check on grandma, we need to go check on grandpa.
We need to see how her and her cousin's doing.
We know and her dad, And she's just that type
of daughter. The oldest at the time got accepted to college,
and so she went off to college and she graduated.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Meanwhile, Keemana sacrificed everything just because she didn't want to
leave me alone when my twins were very young.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
And wow, you know, she lived in the car with me.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
And she went and got went to school every morning.
You know, she's still a bright star today. And she
was slow in her career choices, and she's just as
she acts as if nothing has fased her.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
And I just am so proud of her. I don't
know what I'll say.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
You often think about you know, most people think of
children relying on their parents, their parents becoming their rock.
But it sounds like Kimana became your rock. She was
the solid person in your life for a lot of
years and continues to be.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yes, yes, she still is to this day.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
You always check on me, and I'm in college now
and making a better life for myself, and you know,
I don't think I could have made it out of
that situation without her.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah, that says a lot. Yeah, Dana, how old is Kamana?

Speaker 4 (02:44):
She is twenty seventh? Wow, twenty seven right now?

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Yeah, what an incredible child you have raised.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
She's a good girl.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
So we brought Kamana on with us. Kamana, you've been
listening to your mom? What do you think about all
of this?

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Thank you, Mom.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
You've always been by my side.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
You know. I know it was embarrassing for you to
have to go to high school and come home and
to a car. You know, so I admire you, and
you know I never forget that.

Speaker 6 (03:25):
Okay, Mom, I love you so much.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Oh you know, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
The love that you both have for one another, and
how you are always there for one another in the
worst of times and I would imagine, of course the
best of times as well is so admirable.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
And come on, well, your mom has been talking about
how great you are. We have to recognize how great
she is.

Speaker 6 (03:56):
She has been the biggest inspiration. Just seeing her strength
has pretty much motivated me through any situation or obstacle
or conflict that I've been through. Just seeing everything that
she's been able to accomplish and keep a smile on
her face the whole time has been the most motivating

(04:16):
thing I can ever have ever witnessed get an experienced so.
