Speaker 2 (00:05):
Seven oh four is the time Hollan oates here on
the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court and right now
we get to announce our next Morning Breeze Person of
the Week.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Our hope is that after you listened to this Morning
Breeze Person of the Week, that you feel inspired Yeah
by his story, because we certainly are. We've got Donna
on the phone. Donna, you nominated your neighbor Nick. Tell
us why you nominated Nick.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Yeah, We've lived in my neighborhood for twenty seven years
in the courtyard, so ten neighbors all together, and we
really never for twenty seven years, really never got to
know each other, you know, say hi and by as
we leave our driveway. Twenty seven years and not really
knowing our neighbors. And then three years ago this young
man Nick moved in with his wife and with him

(00:50):
the three years since he moved in, he's made this
neighborhood into a family.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
How did he do that?

Speaker 4 (00:55):
So he moved in like in November three years ago. December,
he went around to each house and he gave every
but he a little gifts, our baskets and nothing, just
like youngous gift baskets. And then August came around and
it was like that neighborhood night out. So he organized
a neighborhood barbecue picnic at the top of our courtyard
and he put out flyers and he catered it. Hob

(01:19):
By himself, didn't ask for any help. Wow, that get together,
and that's when we, for the first time in twenty
seven years, met each of our neighbors that live in
this courtyard of ten houses. And after that, he made
a little booklet with everybody's phone numbers and emails, and
he put together like this neighborhood watch. And we have
about three people that live in our courtyard that are

(01:42):
in their eighties and nineties and this man has organized
like a little elderly watch for them so that we
look out for them. He put up stairwells because he's
afraid that they might fall as they're going up there
the stairs of their houses. He's put up security lights.
Didn't ask for anything, no payment, messing. Wow. Yeah, he
organized a Halloween hunted house. He put up decorations and

(02:06):
on everybody's blunt and he's I mean big tumongous decorations
and then he organized a haunted house kind of walk
through and I don't know how many people came through,
probably at least five hundred and six hundred made candy
back to all the kids. Just because he's that kind
of a person.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
That's incredible.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Yeahs Now, we're a family.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
It's always amazing how it just takes one person to
just make that difference. And I don't know, I don't
want to say force people into the uncomfortable areas of
meeting new people because we like to keep to ourselves oftentimes.
But good for Nick. He sounds like the best neighbor ever.
And we have Nick on the phone with us, So Nick,
what do you think?

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Very much?

Speaker 5 (02:47):
But I have really good neighbors and they're really good people,
so made it super easy to do that.

Speaker 2 (02:52):

Breeze Person of the Week, we also award you Brunch

Speaker 5 (03:20):

you know, And it was just so much fun bringing
them together. And once we all came together, we just
realized how much fun it was.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
And oh, I love it. We have the best neighborhood.
So I'm so excited about it.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
