Speaker 1 (00:05):
John Waite at seven six here on ninety eight point
one The Breeze. It's the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and
Court and it's one of our favorite times of the
week where we get to announce the next Morning Breeze
person of the week.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Ginger sent in a nomination about Donald, and we've got
Donald on the phone.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Hi Donald, good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Oh? Pretty good?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
And we're good.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
We got a lovely note about you from Ginger. Is
Ginger your wife?

Speaker 4 (00:29):
That's my wife?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Very nice?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
So yeah, Ginger set us a note nominating you to
be the Morning Breeze Person of the week, saying that
you work night and day taking care of over one
hundred teachers.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
So what's your position and where do you work?

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Not the facilities manager for Great Valley Academy. We have
nine hundred plus kids and over one hundred employees, So yeah,
we have a lot a lot of people.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Look out for right here, she said, not only are
you the superhero for the nine hundred students, but for
the one hundred teacher as well.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
That is a thousand people a day. Like, how do
you juggle it all.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Well. It's tricky sometimes, but I figure it out. I'm
going on my fourteenth year and this is our second school,
so we've opened two schools. We actually moved this school
halfway through and so started up fresh year. And yeah
we've been We just built a new parking lot and
you're building offices and building. It's just been a grind
running that hill for all these years, but we're almost there.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
That's the thing with being a facilities manager. I can
only assume is your job's really never done. Yeah, always
on goal.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
Yeah. They told me last summer just to be the
last big one and I laughed.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
You knew better after fourteen years, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
And I feel like with a job.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Like that, where there are so many demands on you,
and then of course you have your family as well,
like you must love what you do. You have to
have some sort of passion to be able to do
this on a daily basis.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
I definitely do. I was a general contractor before this,
and the founder of the school was one of my
best customers. He talked to me to going to work
for for a short time to start to school, and
here I am almost fourteen years later.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Is he kind of laughing, going, I knew you were
going to stay.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
He's laughing on one side of his mouth and at
the other side he's thinking, thank goodness you stayed.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
So what would you say your favorite thing is about
what you.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Do seeing the kids succeed. That's probably the best. You know,
She's seen all the wonderful things we do for the
kids and their families.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
And I would imagine fourteen years doing this, you've seen,
I mean, you've seen kids go all the way through
the process of school.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Oh for sure, we've had we're getting kids at four
years old and all the way up until eighth grade.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Well, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
One of our favorite things about doing our Morning Breeze
Person of the Week is that we get to talk
to all kinds of people who do all sorts of
jobs and are special in the community in their own ways.
And so we wanted to make you officially this week's
Morning Breeze Person of the Week. And what that means
for you is that we are going to give you
a brunch for two out on the Bay thanks to

(03:00):
our friends at City Cruises. So you and I'm assuming
your wife Ginger, since she nominated you Oh yeah, you
guys are gonna go out there and have a delicious
brunch one morning and you just take the morning off
and enjoy each other's company, eat some good food, check
out the sites, and just relax for a little bit.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
Wow, thank you so much. That's gonna be amazing.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Donald. If it does doesn't already sound great, I'm just
I'm a big proponent for the French toast. As you're
eating breakfast, Donald just sound like a French toast guy.
To me, you got to go back for seconds.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Donald nailed it.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Court pushes the French toast rightfully, so I feel like
I've had it and I've never had it. Stop pushing
this on everybody he talks to. So you have to
get the French toast just for Court alone.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
If I'm gonna thank your advice and I'm gonna go
with the French. Thank you guys so much for doing that.
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
You're welcome, And of course, big thank you to your wife, Ginger.
We so appreciate her sending in the nomination about you.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Definitely, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
You got it.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
And if there's somebody like Donald in your life, we
want to hear about them. Make an nomination for the
Morning Breeze Person of the Week on our website. Ninety
