Speaker 4 (00:30):
She's a teacher at James Monroe Elementary School. Her and
I have been friends four years. I actually had three
of her children at my preschool many years ago. She's
been teaching for over thirty years. She's awesome. She's dedicated
her life to early childhood education. She's an amazing mother.

(00:51):
She's just a wonderful person. You know, she's just always
everybody else's before herself. But when I heard it on
the radio, I'm like, she just came to mind. I'm
just always amazed by her because we're in the same
field of education. I'm in preschool. She's always been there
for me to keep me updated on the latest things

(01:13):
that are going on within our field. And then personally,
we put her behind a sewing machine and she's a master.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, like what can't she do? She does everything right.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Right, and she always has a smile on her face.
As a friend, is always there.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
I can speak from personal experience as a father, like
early childhood development, the teachers that are in that age,
the preschool and the kindergarten is so special. And when
you have somebody like Diane, it probably just makes such
a difference to the parents knowing both their kids are safe.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Yeah with her, and most certainly is. And then when
she tells me stories, Oh my gosh, she says, I
got a student this year, and I had their parents.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
They were in dgarten when you teach thirty years Yeah,
all right, Vicky, hang on, We're gonna try and get Diane.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
On the phone with us. Give us just a second.

Speaker 3 (02:07):

Vicky on the phone with us.

Oh, I love Vicky.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Vicky's great and Vicky loves you as well.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Oh, Diane, I nominated you for Person of the Week

give to your family, give to your friends, and I
think you're very deserving of this award.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
My students are all sitting in front of me and
they're watching me cry. Vicky was telling us about all
that you do for the community, for the kid, for
the parents, that some of the parents were your students
at one point.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yes, like this a long time, Dickie. You've been doing
this a long time too.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
I couldn't turn around and nominate you.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
All the same.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
So what we're gonna do for you, Diana, is we're
going to send you out on a cruise courtesy of
City Cruises, out on the Bay. You go out, you
have some brunch, you check out the beautiful sights, and
just relax and take a morning off. You do so
much for everybody else, we want to do something for
you one morning.

They're so darling and they're just smiling at me right
now because they're like my favorite people in the whole world.
And now today's lesson becomes why it's okay to show
emotion in public.

That is true. We were just talking about loving kindness.
