Speaker 2 (00:01):
The Morning Breeze on Demand.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Madonna at seven three at ninety eight point one The Breeze.
You've Got the Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court And
as we do every Friday, at this time, we get
to announce our next Morning Breeze Person of the Week.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
Yes, and this week it is Barbara who nominated her
husband Mark, and Barbara, we got your nomination. It looks
like Mark is extremely busy, and I know he's retired,
but he's so busy, So tell us why you nominated Mark.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
He does so much for the community. He drives your
meals on meals and part of the reason why is
that he finds that the people that you deliver food
to are you just only people that don't get out
much and they don't have people visiting them. And she
has conversations with them and just kind of says God
bless you, you know, and just say.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Hi to them.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
And I think he finds it very rewarding. He also
cooks for the homeless at the Centerville Presbyterian Church on Thursdays.
She's helping refurbish a children's area at Bridges Church on Tuesdays,
and he cooks for the h Well Center on Wednesday.
So he's very busy in his retirement.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Do you ever see your husband?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yeah at night?
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Yeah, okay, you listened off so many great things here.
I'm looking at this like he's driving, he's cooking, he's
doing like handyman stuff. He just does so much.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
He used to be a brickmason, so he's did thatth
for like thirty seven years. And I think he just
likes interacting with people and bring joy to them and
you know, being a part of the community. So I
was like, oh, he's perfect. He would be a great candidate.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
He really is a perfect person of the week. As
a matter of fact, we've brought him on with us
and Mark, you've been listening to us the whole time.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, Mark, what do you think about all the things
that Barbara has been saying about you?
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It's nothing, really, I do think so.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
So driving for meals on wheels, cooking for the homeless
at church, and furbishing kid zones, it's nothing really.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Yeah. I'm a retired mason, so that was a hard,
hard work. So this is easy.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
I really like helping people. And I'm on my way
right now to the Senior Center. I get a cook
here for up to one hundred people today for lunch.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Wow. I love that you said. I get to cook
for one hundred people for lunch. That's awesome.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
It's a great attitude, that really is.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
I get to do this and it's like it's so
much fun.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
And then two to four today I get to give
free pool lessons again I get to I love it.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Right, So, Mark, where did this come from that you
are such a giving person? Were you brought up this
way or did something happen in your life where you
just thought I have to give back.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
My dad and my uncle's We had a lady named
Sister pat in Indiana and she actually built two five
thousand square foot homes for abandon families. We volunteered for
two months to help build them. At first, I'm like, well,
we have to drive seventy five miles one way.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
And I'm like wow. And then I got to where
Wow I get the chance to do this. Yeah, yeah,
it's like wow. So it was amazing to help her.
It was hard work, but you know, nobody complained. Yeah,
we just showed up and help people.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
You know, you definitely have a gift and you are
a gift. Mark and because of that, we want to
