Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Morning Breeze, The Morning Breeze on Demand.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
And it is The Morning Breeze with Carolyn and Court.
You know by now that every Friday morning, at this
time we bring you the Morning Breeze Person of the Week. Yes,
and these are people that you have nominated that are
in your life in one way or another. Maybe you're
super close to them, maybe they are just an acquaintance,
but they've done something really great that you feel like
(00:25):
needs to be highlighted. And that's where we come in
to help.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
That's right. This week our Morning Breeze Person of the Week.
Drew was nominated by his mom Martina. Martina tell us
about Drew.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Drew was my oldest son. I have three boys. He
is working out of school. He works a special needs kids.
He's really a baseball umpire and he does his degree
in psychology, but started working there that he became a
dad recently. His baby is just six months old. That
has just you know, his passion for helping these children
has just grown so much. He's only one of to
(00:58):
mail teachers there, so the teachers reach out to him
a lot because he's really good at working, especially with
the little boys. Yeah, and he does work with with
some children that are nonverbal. You know, a lot of
times you have kids that just are very sort of violent,
so they hit. So he really tries to work with
(01:18):
only the teachers, with the parents and and helping these
children because you need to understand how to work with
them to be able to help them. So it's just
it's a lot to do, and you know, having the
little guy, but it's been amazing to see the passion
that he has for helping these children that it's hard.
(01:40):
A lot of teachers don't go into this profession because
it is very difficult. And the kids always give him,
you know, they draw little things for him and little cards,
and it's really cool to see.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I'm sure as his mom, you must be so proud.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yes, his passion of becoming an umpire, you know, professional umpire.
He feels like they're that that's not important enough, you know,
And what's important enough now is that he helps as
many children as possible.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
So we just got Drew on the other line.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yes, and Martina, why do you tell your son, Drew
why we're calling today?
Speaker 1 (02:13):
So, Drew, this is so so so incredibly exciting. I
know that you pour your heart and soul into the
school and the children that you work with, the children
with special needs. So I hear your stories, I feel
the passion. I reached out to the Vega station because
Caroly encouraged with this awesome thing where they select the
(02:34):
person of the week, and I recommended you for that.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Is that right, she did?
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Oh well, I appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
At the end of the day, it's not necessarily such
a I want to say, it's a rewarding field, but
you don't get the reward all the time. But it
is really cool to know that, you know that I'm
being recognized for that too, because I actually am starting
a massive's program to help, you know, give myself a
little bit more credentials with the special education field. So
it definitely is really cool to be recognizing that manner
(03:04):
providing a positive environment for people to thrive in or
students to thrive in and learn from. I think that's
that's the best that I can do.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Man.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
So, like, I really do appreciate you guys for the shout. Now,
thank you Mom, Like, yeah, I appreciate you, Mom. That's awesome.

to award you brunch for two out on the bay.
We're going to get you out on a city cruises boat.
You get to go out, have some good food and
take in the sites, take a morning off to just
celebrate your awesomeness.

for the community. But truly, like the kids, the community,
your mom, like you affect so many different people in
so many different ways, Drew. But like you said, we
owe it to your mind. She's the one who nominated you.
Speaker 4 (04:03):

my mom. My mom is uh my, she's been there
since day one, you know. Like I said, I couldn't
be more blessed. So thank you so much.
